This role is for a Senior Associate/Special Counsel in General Insurance at one of Australia's largest and most highly regarded national firms. Requirements

• 4+ years' PQE with substantial experience in general insurance casualty and/or professional indemnity claims, including defence work and coverage advice.
• Ability to manage a file load autonomously while delegating effectively.
• Excellent written skills and the ability to explain legal concepts clearly and concisely.
• Strong interpersonal skills for dealing with policyholders, insurers, other parties and the courts.
• A desire to develop your career and networks in the general insurance industry, with a can-do, team-player attitude.

Responsibilities

• Defence of public liability, product liability, professional indemnity and third-party property damage claims.
• Coverage and risk management advice for underwriters and self-insured corporates.
• Statutory claims brought by workers and the relevant workers compensation authority.
• Managing your own file load while delegating to junior solicitors and working in tandem with a supervising partner.
• Direct client engagement, business development and marketing opportunities.
