Senior Associate - Private Wealth Product Management

Neuberger BermanNew York, NY
$90,000 - $120,000

About The Position

The Private Wealth Product Management team serves as the backbone for operational excellence across Private Wealth products and service offerings. The team is responsible for the design, governance, and lifecycle management of all products and investment programs offered to private wealth clients — partnering closely with Product Development, Operations, Legal/Compliance, Technology, CIO, and COO functions to define how products work, who they serve, and how they are controlled. This role sits at the core of the Product Management team's design and governance function. You will be responsible for defining the parameters, eligibility rules, and structural guardrails that govern how Private Wealth products and investment programs are built, offered, and administered. This includes translating product and program intent into precise operational and data specifications — from investment product eligibility and fee structures to investment advisory program design and account-level data definitions. This role requires someone who can bridge business intent with operational rigor; equally comfortable designing the rules for a new product launch as they are defining the data architecture that supports it.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in financial services, with meaningful exposure to investment products, wealth management, or investment advisory programs
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Strong working knowledge of investment product structures including mutual funds, ETFs, SMAs, and alternative investments (private funds, hedge fund structures strongly preferred)
  • Experience with investment advisory models, fee structures, and regulatory framework (IA vs. BD distinctions)
  • Experience defining or working within product eligibility, program governance, or operational rules frameworks
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex business or regulatory requirements into clear, actionable specifications
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders simultaneously in a dynamic environment
  • Experience in private wealth, family office, or high-net-worth client service environments
  • Familiarity with account data structures, reference data management, or product master
  • Background in investment advisory compliance, product governance, or operational risk
  • Naturally curious and analytically rigorous — comfortable questions such as "but what happens when…" questions
  • Strong judgment and discretion; high level of integrity and professionalism
  • Adaptable and energized by building in a growing, evolving team environment
  • Applicants must be authorized and have the right to work in the country where the role is located without the need for current or future sponsorship.

  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Operations to translate regulatory and policy constraints into clear operational parameters
  • Design and document the operational and data specifications for investment advisory programs and other client-facing programs (e.g., program enrollment criteria, capture and storage associated data that would be required, monitoring parameters, etc.)
  • Define program-level data requirements and ensure data attributes are properly structured, labeled, and used consistently across systems and reporting
  • Maintain governance artifacts including parameter matrices, eligibility frameworks, decision logs, and program specifications
  • Serve as a subject matter resource for product and program rules across stakeholder groups including Wealth Advisors, Client Service, Operations, Legal & Compliance, and Data & Technology
  • Support product launches by delivering complete and accurate parameter specifications that downstream teams can execute against
