About The Position

The Private Capital Investors (PCI) team is a leading investor in the traditional debt private placement market, providing medium to long-term debt to a variety of organizations including public and private companies, endowments, charitable institutions, and cooperatives. PCI offers diverse financing options such as senior debt, master note facilities, and credit tenant leases, with specialized sector expertise in infrastructure, utilities, structured finance, oil and gas, REITs, sports, not-for-profits, and media sectors. Senior Associates are integral to PCI’s deal teams, contributing to new investment underwriting and portfolio monitoring within small business units. This role is based in the NYC home office and involves both domestic and cross-border opportunities, with collaboration between New York and London colleagues.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree (BA) required, preferable to have majored in economics, accounting or finance.
  • Minimum 2+ years of private placement industry or meaningful investment experience.
  • Strong team player with the ability to manage and prioritize numerous tasks.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong quantitative skills.
  • Ability to understand current events that may impact business issues.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Bloomberg, CapIQ and AI platforms
  • Experience working collaboratively across business units toward shared objectives

Responsibilities

  • Assist with screening new investment opportunities and presenting ideas/conclusions for peer review.
  • Perform investment analysis, financial modeling, conduct company research and contribute to the preparation of formal credit memorandums.
  • Analyze financial information to forecast business, industry, and economic conditions used in making investment decisions.
  • Assist with presenting investment recommendations to Credit Committee.
  • Work with Agent Banks to help secure allocations to new transactions.
  • Help maintain an on-going dialogue with Issuers, including attendance at in person meetings.
  • Analyze company financial statements, industry, regulatory and economic information in order to track financial performance, industry developments, and compliance with required terms.
  • Assist in preparing and presenting periodic portfolio reviews.
  • Help managing amendments and waivers as required.
