About The Position
The Senior Associate, Portfolio Management & ALM works alongside senior portfolio managers to monitor and report on portfolio performance and risk. The role produces analysis that guides tactical decisions to enhance returns while maintaining liability alignment. It supports management of existing asset portfolios, evaluates prospective investments, assists with onboarding investment mandates, and collaborates with teams across the company on pricing, due diligence, and broader initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years of experience in insurance asset management, fixed-income portfolio management, or roles focused on liability-driven investment mandates.
- Strong technical background in analysis and reporting using MS Office.
- Ability to take ownership of responsibilities and collaborate across various teams.
Nice To Haves
- An advanced graduate degree or progress toward CFA and/or comparable actuarial or risk credentials.
- Familiarity with public and private fixed-income markets, ALM principles, and portfolio performance measurement.
- Familiarity with Python or SQL.
Responsibilities
- Support daily management of existing asset portfolios, including monitoring risk positions against cedant guidelines and internal risk thresholds.
- Discuss market opportunities, portfolio performance, guideline compliance, and tactical shifts across public and private fixed-income markets with asset managers.
- Analyze and report on key drivers of portfolio performance against target, and suggest ways to improve performance.
- Collaborate with asset managers to develop investment recommendations based on market conditions and ALM positioning.
- Evaluate prospective investments and their relative value compared with competing alternatives.
- Assist with onboarding new investment mandates.
- Work with Actuarial, Risk, Capital, Finance, and Treasury teams to support pricing, due-diligence efforts, and company-wide initiatives.
- Build strong working relationships across the firm.
