The Senior Associate, Portfolio Management & ALM works alongside senior portfolio managers to monitor and report on performance and risk, producing analysis that guides tactical decisions to enhance returns while maintaining liability alignment. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related discipline; advanced graduate degree or progress towards CFA and/or comparable actuarial/risk credentials viewed favorably.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in insurance asset management, fixed-income portfolio management, or roles focused on liability-driven investment mandates.
  • Familiarity with fixed-income markets across public and private sectors, ALM principles, and portfolio performance measurement is viewed favorably.
  • Strong technical background in analysis and reporting using MS Office; familiarity with Python or SQL is a plus.
  • Ability to demonstrate ownership over responsibilities and ability to collaborate across various teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily management of existing asset portfolios, which includes monitoring risk positions against cedant guidelines and internal risk thresholds.
  • Engage in recurring discussions with asset managers on market opportunities, portfolio performance, compliance with guidelines, and tactical shifts across public and private fixed-income markets.
  • Analyze and report on key drivers of portfolio performance against target and suggest ways to improve portfolio performance.
  • Collaborate with asset managers to develop investment recommendations based on market conditions and ALM positioning.
  • Evaluate prospective investments and their relative value versus competing alternatives.
  • Assist with onboarding of new investment mandates.
  • Work closely with Actuarial, Risk, Capital, Finance, and Treasury teams to support pricing, due-diligence efforts, and company-wide initiatives.
  • Build strong working relationships across the firm.
