Job Title: Senior Associate, Network Planning Engineer Job Code: 32587 Job Location : Melbourne, FL Job Description : L3Harris is seeking a motivated individual looking for an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Network Planning Engineer supporting FAA/FTI program. As a Network Planning Engineer, candidate will support design, implementation, and optimization of communication network solutions. The candidate will collaborate with internal and external teams, and work independently on special projects, including developing network designs based upon emerging customer requirements. Other tasks include negotiating commercial vendor products, developing procedures for implementing new network designs and managing small to large network projects. This position is ONSITE and is located at L3Harris offices located in Melbourne, Florida. This position requires the ABILITY to obtain FAA Public Trust.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience.
• Graduate Degree and a minimum of 0 years of prior related experience.
• In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
• Must possess prior knowledge and experience with communications engineering designs, service solutions and implementation processes
• MEF 2.0 certification and/or equivalent level experience
• CCNA Certification or equivalent work experience
• Ability to obtain security clearance

Nice To Haves

• Strong skill set with Microsoft Office software applications
• Must be able to demonstrate the ability to design, implement and support Ethernet and TDM network infrastructures
• Knowledge of telecommunications carrier ordering systems and processes
• Experience with database modeling software such as MetaSolv

Responsibilities

• Assess telecommunications technologies and design solutions to ensure alignment with the FAA/FTI network's critical infrastructure and service requirements.
• Architect and engineer next-generation telco services to replace legacy copper-based solutions with modern, scalable alternatives.
• Deliver tailored network implementations that meet dynamic customer requirements and long-term strategic objectives.
• Establish and apply best practices in network design, capacity planning, and service continuity to support mission-critical operations.
• Oversee the telco design release lifecycle to ensure timely execution and alignment with program milestones.
