About The Position

This role is for a Senior Associate in Investment Operations within PGIM Alternative Investments, focusing on Asset-Based Finance and Residential Mortgage Whole Loan products. The position offers both operational and people leadership, covering the entire investment lifecycle from deal onboarding to secondary market trading. It requires close collaboration with various internal and external teams, including Portfolio Management, Deal Teams, Legal, Fund Management, counterparties, custodians, trustees, and agent banks. The goal is to ensure accurate and timely transaction execution, effective risk management, and ongoing portfolio support. The successful candidate will drive operational excellence, enhance controls, develop team talent, and support business growth and scalability. This is a hybrid position based in Newark, NJ, with employees expected to be in the office 3 days a week, with flexibility based on task demands or personal preference. Office presence is encouraged for collaborative tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related discipline preferred. All majors considered.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in Financial Services, with demonstrated experience in Investment Operations, Private Credit, Asset Based Finance, Residential Mortgage Loans, Restructuring, or related alternative investment products.
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience including performance management, coaching, employee development
  • Intermediate or Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional ability to evaluate complex issues, exercise sound judgement, influence outcomes, and make risk-based decisions while escalating material matters appropriately
  • Excellent leadership presence, communication, and stakeholder management skills with ability to influence across all levels
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple strategic priorities in a deadline driven environment, while fostering accountability, collaboration, and development of the team

Nice To Haves

  • Experience interpreting Credit Agreements and Purchase Agreements a plus
  • Experience working with Transfer Agents a plus
  • Experience settling Delayed Draw Term Loans (DDTL) and Revolvers and instructing/settling DWAC, DRS, FOP, and physical bonds or equities a plus
  • Experience with Aladdin/Aladdin Loan Manager or other loan servicing platforms a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and mentor a team of Investment Operations professionals, driving performance excellence, fostering career growth, and ensuring adherence to operational controls, policies, and risk management standards.
  • Actively facilitate the deal execution process in coordination with deal team, counsel, fund management, and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Capture and maintain primary and secondary market trading activity within the Order Management System (OMS), ensuring accurate and timely IBOR positions and records.
  • Manage end-to-end wire payment processes, ensuring efficient deal funding, settlement, and adherence to operational controls.
  • Coordinate and execute private asset transfers.
  • Manage daily production including cash forecasting and positioning.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to research and resolve cash and position breaks.
  • Prepare and distribute recurring and ad hoc reports to support business, operational, and management decision-making.
  • Identify and implement process improvement and automation opportunities to increase operational efficiency, strengthen controls, and support business growth.
