About The Position

We are looking for an experienced and fast-moving financial expert to support Hallow's growth. This role involves working directly with the CFO, owning the financial model, and driving key financial decisions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the long-term, 3-statement monthly operating model, building forecasts, scenario planning, and explaining deviations from projections. This position will also drive budgeting processes, conduct financial and operational analytics, and contribute to the automation of financial planning processes. Additionally, the role will support financing and capital markets activities by identifying opportunities, assisting with due diligence, and building pro forma business cases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
  • 3+ years as a financial analyst or associate or equivalent (e.g., investment banking, private equity, corp dev).
  • Experience building 3-statement financial projection models.
  • Comfortable with scenario modeling.
  • Familiarity with consumer subscription or enterprise SaaS revenue and expense recognition principles.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Incredible strong attention to detail, even while moving quickly.
  • Ability to maintain focus and clarity even in high pressure moments with executive leaders.
  • Ability to produce significant output with minimal wasted effort.
  • Ability to do "back of the envelope" analyses quickly.
  • Ability to naturally build analyses in a way that’s easy to explain, audit, and update.
  • Ability to create progress without waiting to be handed a plan.
  • Ability to manage several priorities at once without dropping any of them.
  • Ability to advance multiple priorities at once.
  • Responsibility for understanding how everything in the business actually works, and building forecasts that reflect that reality.
  • Responsibility to keep forecast mechanics up to date and articulate how the past deviated from prior plans.
  • Ability to take a step back and discern the forest from the trees.
  • Ability to know what analysis might give real insights or change a decision.
  • Ability to distill a large model down to the few drivers that matter.
  • Communicate proactively and explain financial work to people who don't live in the model, easily walking someone from assumptions through to conclusions.
  • Ability to build trust quickly across the org.
  • Ability to follow through on commitments.

Responsibilities

  • Own the long-term, 3-statement monthly operating model, build forecasts with the executive team, and keep scenario planning current.
  • Explain deviations between reality and projections and operate on a tight cadence around Board reporting and executive team reviews.
  • Work with department heads and the executive team to build annual + quarterly budgets and targets.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team on monthly company, segment, and budget-owner budget-to-actual reviews.
  • Own the monthly customer cohort model, run weekly and monthly financial KPI reviews, and dig into one-off analyses.
  • Work with leaders across the company to understand how the business actually runs.
  • Be a leading force in the transformation toward an AI-native finance tech stack and automated financial planning and analysis processes.
  • Work with the executive team to identify potential partnership and financing opportunities.
  • Support due diligence processes for financing and capital markets.
  • Build pro forma business cases for potential strategic partnerships.
