About The Position

Capital One’s Commercial Credit Risk team is seeking a highly qualified candidate to support the Enterprise Valuation Group. This team delivers consistent, high-quality valuations for all enterprise value-reliant deals across the Commercial Bank, driving critical insights for regulatory compliance, risk management, and financial reporting, while offering exposure to complex distressed valuations.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting or military experience
At least 2 years of work experience in finance, financial modeling, accounting, or business analysis
Strong business judgment, analytical abilities, and presentation skills are essential.
The ability to anticipate potential issues and proactively manage workflow is also key.

Nice To Haves

Master's Degree or MBA
2+ years of direct experience in enterprise valuation
Familiarity with Google Workspace and AI assistants (e.g., Google Gemini)
Experience in data analytics
Familiarity with Capital IQ as well as other market intelligence online databases
Professional certification (CFA, CVA, ASA, or CPA) highly preferred, or significant progress towards a relevant designation (e.g., CFA Level I passed).
Knowledge of distressed valuation analysis, or exposure to litigation/bankruptcy scenarios

Responsibilities

Create financial models using methods such as the discounted cash flow, comparable company, and comparable transactions methods
Review and evaluate financial projections to determine if the assumptions are reasonable and supportable
Read and spread financial statements, demonstrating an understanding of basic financial metrics
Conduct high-level industry research to understand key sector characteristics and trends
Draft valuation reports detailing key assumptions
Work independently on assigned valuation tasks with coaching and direction, demonstrating strong attention to detail
