CMTA, formerly known as AMA Group, is hiring a Senior Associate, Commissioning Engineer. We are looking for an experienced commissioning and building systems engineer to lead projects and mentor emerging engineers. The role works directly under the Managing Principal; there is high potential for growth and leadership opportunities. Under the tutelage of the Managing Principal, you will work on becoming a known subject matter expert.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in commissioning
  • Proficient with technical writing of documents such as: commissioning plans (CMP): user requirements specifications (URS), risk assessments (RA), factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), pre-functional tests (PFT), functional tests (FT), commissioning test plans (CTP), integrated system tests (IST), maintenance, calibration, and spare parts
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems: ability to read, interpret, and correct P&IDs, and experience with working in construction environments
  • CEM (Certified Energy Manager) or approved Equivalent
  • CBCP (Certified Building Commissioning Professional) or approved equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Perform professional building and system commissioning work by conducting research and inspections of proposed and existing site conditions, equipment, resources, layout, usage, and systems to determine conformance with applicable rules, standards, codes, and installation or operating permits
  • Create documents such as commissioning plans, commissioning reports, design qualification equipment, facility and utility protocols, and final reports
  • LEED Commissioning Fundamental, Enhanced and Monitoring Based Commissioning
  • Write comprehensive reports which include the following sections: recommendations for optimizing building operations (Energy Audits)
  • Prepare data and visualizations such as tables, charts, accurate reports, sketches, calculations, technical drawings, spreadsheets, and 2D/3D illustrations for the interpretation or presentation of data, findings, or analyses
  • Manage several concurrent projects that are in various stages of design, construction, and warranty periods
  • Mentor junior team members
  • Support the business development team through idea generation and thought leadership
  • Assist in the identification and pursuit of new projects through proposals and pitches
  • Local travel to project sites; there may be travel to California, New Jersey, and Miami as needed
