About The Position

The Senior Associate will be an integral part of the team responsible for creating process efficiencies and ensuring data integrity across the Capital Markets business at Bain Capital. They will develop and maintain automated solutions to address client, internal, and regulatory reporting needs, largely utilizing Alteryx, Python, and Power-BI. This role involves designing, building, and maintaining automated data workflows using Alteryx to streamline recurring reporting and reduce manual effort. The associate will also provide internal consulting support by diagnosing problems, structuring analyses, and recommending solutions that drive measurable impact. Interaction with Investor Relations, Finance, Operations, and Portfolio Managers will be key to understanding reporting and data aggregation needs. A deep understanding of internal systems for data entry and storage, as well as the flow of information, is crucial. The role includes manual cleansing of historical data and formulating new guidelines to enhance data accuracy. Creating visualizations for complex data models in PowerBI is essential for simplifying understanding and reducing manual efforts for end users. The associate will also address ad-hoc problem-solving needs, develop creative solutions, and own end-user testing and implementation.

Requirements

• 2 - 4+ years of full-time experience in data analytics within a finance or accounting setting, preferably at an investment firm.
• Proficient in PowerBI development, including semantic model relationships, database queries (preferably Snowflake), writing measures in DAX, and advanced visualization techniques.
• A foundational understanding of credit funds and portfolio management.
• Demonstrated project management skills and excellent organizational skills; ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects with diligent attention to detail.
• Self-starter with initiative.
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• Strong interpersonal skills with capacity to interact with outside parties and personnel across all levels of the firm.
• Collaborate daily with team members to brainstorm approaches, challenge assumptions, and improve deliverables through shared iteration.
• Strong ability to think outside the box to develop solutions to Frequent / Challenging / Unique ad-hoc requests to deliver the desired information, often starting from a blank slate.

Nice To Haves

• A bachelor’s degree in data analytics, accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong analytical background utilizing PowerBI to summarize large datasets.
• Proficient writing code in Python, DAX, and SQL
• A keen interest in technology and its application in finance, with the capacity to propose and implement process improvements.
• CPA or equivalent qualification a plus.
• Work toward or an interest in pursuing a CFA charter a plus.
