$111,200 - $126,900Onsite

About The Position

As a Senior Associate on the ALCO Strategy team, you will act as the critical bridge between technical subject matter experts (SMEs) across Capital Markets & Analytics (CMA), partner teams, and our most senior stakeholders. You will have a front-row seat to how the company manages liquidity, capital, and market risk, directly supporting senior executives in driving their strategic agenda. This role offers exceptional, highly visible exposure. You will evaluate some of the most pressing challenges and opportunities facing the Company and the banking industry today, crafting the narrative for the Board of Directors, the Chief Financial Officer, the Asset Liability Committee (ALCO), and a number of supporting Senior Management Committees. Along the way, you will gain a broad, unparalleled education in funding, liquidity and interest rate risk management, capital strategy, and resolution planning — learning how different businesses impact Capital One's Treasury, Capital, and Balance Sheet Management strategy.

  • At least 2 years of experience working in the financial services industry or consulting
  • Exceptional written communication skills, with an ability to translate complex subjects into digestible “plain language”
  • Intellectual curiosity to quickly develop an intuition around new topics, understand the "why" behind a process, and not be afraid to ask thoughtful questions or push back when data or trends seem counter-intuitive
  • A proven ability to prioritize multiple high-stakes projects simultaneously, proactively thinking a few steps ahead to deliver high-quality work with meticulous attention to detail and technical rigor
  • Strong collaborative influence to navigate partner SME teams and build alignment

  • 2+ years of specific experience in Bank Treasury, Asset-Liability Management (ALM), or Corporate Finance at a large financial institution
  • 2+ years of experience with complex banking regulatory deliverables, such as CCAR, Resolution & Recovery Planning, or Liquidity Stress Testing (LCR/NSFR)
  • Deep understanding of bank financial statements and key balance sheet metrics (e.g., Net Interest Margin, EVE, deposit behavior).
  • Direct exposure drafting Board of Directors memos, regulatory responses, or C-suite strategy presentations
  • Experience managing the governance rhythm, agendas, and compliance dashboards for senior management committees (like an ALCO or Enterprise Risk Committee)
  • Working knowledge of SQL (or Snowflake) to independently validate data sets, run ad-hoc metrics, or build automated compliance dashboards.

  • Draft highly visible slide presentations and Board memos to clearly communicate a wide range of complex topics to executive audiences (including Senior Executives and the Board of Directors).
  • Maintain strong business partnerships and independently navigate partner teams to gain alignment, proactively think a few steps ahead, and fully understand the "why" behind the materials being produced.
  • Navigate ambiguity to shape the story for new updates that cannot be built off of historical templates, or identify what is truly new or evolving for recurring topics.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive, competitive, and inclusive set of health, financial and other benefits that support your total well-being.
  • Performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
