About The Position

CIP Terra Technologies is seeking a Senior Associate to join their team in Chicago, US. This role reports to the Commercial Director and supports CIP investment funds and the investment management team by handling investment reporting and workstreams throughout the lifecycle of renewable investments. This includes transactions such as project financing/re-financing, divestments, and risk management. The Financial Analysis team is responsible for the financial models and business cases for Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners’ renewable investments in the Americas. This involves overseeing quarterly fair value assessments for all assets and conducting ad-hoc analyses to identify potential upside or efficiency improvements across the portfolio. These are complex models often including hedging, external financing, earn out, equity partners, tax equity etc. The CIP TT FA team also provides modelling support to the CIP Investments team for various equity and debt raise transactions, and divestment processes.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in finance, Business, Economics, or a related field
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in a fast-changing multinational environment with frequent shifting priorities
  • Solid valuation and financial modelling knowledge and experience from a private equity firm, consulting, or multinational corporation
  • Highly skilled in numerical analysis and demonstrates acute attention to detail
  • High proficiency and experience with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate tasks efficiently ensuring all deadlines are being met
  • Capable of delivering quality results when faced with stringent deadlines
  • Proficient in written and spoken English communication

Responsibilities

  • Preparation and ownership of project level financial models for all investments in construction and operations in the Americas
  • Assist in identification and quantification of risks and opportunities related to the financial performance of the projects
  • Work closely with a project's Asset Manager to maintain accurate assumptions and forecasts for a given project's future profitability
  • Work closely with the Investment team in handover of projects including coordination with external advisors working with the Investment team
  • Support investment team with modelling of transactions as needed (tax equity, debt raise, divestments, etc.) of projects in construction and operation.
  • Develop expert understanding of the complex financial models for both existing and future assets
