About The Position

Support the firm's alternative investments platform across investment diligence, portfolio consulting, operations, transitions, compliance, and legal coordination. The analyst will be trained directly by the senior leader to take ownership of the recurring workflow calendar. Asset classes include: Private equity, private credit, private real assets (real estate and infrastructure), and hedge funds. Structures include LP, BDC, REITs, Tender Offer Funds, Interval Funds, Exchange Funds, 1031 and QOZ Funds.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3–7+ years of experience in alternative investments, wealth management, asset management, or investment research
  • Experience with private equity, private credit, hedge funds, real estate, REITs, BDCs, or other alternative investment structures
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Experience reviewing investment materials, subscription documents, and SEC filings
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to pursue SIE / Series 7 / Series 63 if required
  • Ability to travel as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within an RIA, institutional consulting, OCIO, private bank, or multifamily office environment
  • Direct manager due diligence or investment research experience
  • Familiarity with custodians such as Schwab, Fidelity, Pershing, or Goldman Sachs
  • Experience with alternative investment operations, onboarding, subscriptions, or capital calls
  • Progress toward or completion of CFA, CAIA, CFP, or MBA preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in depth due diligence on prospective investment partnerships by evaluating investment strategy, analyzing operational strength.
  • Analyze data rooms and SEC Filings (e.g.: 10-Q, 8-K, Annual Reports, Prospectus, etc)
  • Write investment committee memos, summarizing key strengths and weaknesses of investment opportunities for the investment committee.
  • Maintain pipeline report of ongoing GP relationships with managers by stage of due diligence in CRM.
  • Participate and lead manager calls and onsite due diligence meetings.
  • Monitor existing fund recommendations, writing ongoing due diligence reports.
  • Stay current on sub-asset class dynamics, and recommend suitable, high conviction managers for Partner Firms based on investor goals and strategic asset allocation, as needed.
  • Provide timely investment reporting, analytics, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Assist with private market primers and outlooks, and other topics of interest as necessary
  • Respond to Partner firm ad hoc projects around research, asset allocation, manager discussions, and RFPs.
  • Assist in creating thought leadership for use with partner firm and clients
  • Develop and update external manager high conviction list, Guide to Alternatives, and operating manual
  • Record manager and asset class primers/videos for the education library, as needed
  • Support creating Quarterly Performance Report of approved managers
  • Aid in compliance by establishing and monitoring risk limits, stress testing by tracking subscriptions
  • Aid in responding to Partner firm questions on NIGO sub-doc remediation, transfers, reregistration, NAV corrections on custodians
  • Support to onboarding and integration of new Partner Firms; tracking assets to platform, confirming fund names/share classes; verifying selling/servicing agreements for brokerage share classes.
  • Participate in weekly transition meetings
  • Cross reference custodian availability (Pershing, Schwab, Fidelity, Goldman Sachs)
  • Attend weekly legal calls, aid in execution of legal agreements and maintain legal files
  • Assist in adding manager tiles to proprietary white label investment platform
  • Prepare DocuSign packets for authorized signatories
