This role is responsible for performing all asset management functions for an assigned loan servicing portfolio, including financial analysis, inspections, assumptions, transfers, easements, partial releases, insurance losses, loan payoffs, maturity management, and other loan events. You will be responsible for strong customer service through prompt, professional communication with borrowers, lenders, investors, and co-workers. Additionally, you will oversee and maintain department policies and procedures related to PWL, WL, and Portfolio Data, and maintain and update monthly/periodic reporting for assigned loans, PWL and WL loans, and Portfolio data, including stress modeling. You will determine analytics needs and create reporting to address assigned reporting, coordinate recurring calls with AM staff regarding PWL & WL loans and Portfolio data, and serve as a formal or informal team leader, including training, mentoring, and coaching junior staff. You will create, document, and follow up on action plans for troubled assets, communicate with senior management regarding remediation strategies and progress, and interact with the accounting department for cash transfers, reserve disbursements, and the maintenance of reserve and escrow accounts. You will also accurately and efficiently produce required analyses of operating statements and financial statements of commercial or multifamily properties, perform (or review third-party) property inspections, maintain a live risk rating for all projects within the assigned portfolio, and perform duties in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and lender servicing guides/agreements. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of commercial or multifamily mortgage servicing experience required
  • General familiarity with GSE (preferably Fannie Mae DUS, HUD/FHA, and/or Freddie Mac Optigo) loan servicing guidelines
  • Experience managing distressed assets, to include familiarity with WL/special servicing requirements, workouts, loss sharing etc.
  • Expert knowledge of mortgage banking, loan servicing, financial statement analysis
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to coach, train, and mentor junior asset managers/analysts
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills required, advanced financial and data manipulation functions in Microsoft Excel preferred
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required

Responsibilities

  • Performing all asset management functions of the assigned loan servicing portfolio, including financial analysis, inspections, assumptions, transfers, easements, partial releases, insurance losses, loan payoff, maturity management, & other loan events
  • Providing strong customer service via prompt, professional communication with borrowers, lenders, investors, and co-workers
  • Overseeing / maintaining department policies and procedures related to PWL, WL, and Portfolio Data
  • Maintaining and updating monthly / periodic reporting for assigned loans
  • Maintaining and updating monthly / periodic reporting for PWL and WL loans, as well as Portfolio data including Stress modeling
  • Determining Analytics’ need and creating Reporting to address assigned reporting
  • Coordinating recurring calls with AM staff regarding PWL & WL loans, as well as Portfolio data
  • Serving as a formal or informal team leader, including training, mentoring, & coaching more junior staff
  • Creating, documenting, and following up on action plans for troubled assets
  • Communicating with senior mgmt. regarding remediation strategies and associated progress
  • Interacting with accounting department for the transfer of cash, processing reserve disbursements, and the maintenance of reserve and other escrow accounts
  • Accurately and efficiently producing required analyses of operating statements and related financial statements of commercial or multifamily properties, including identifying and researching variances, normalizing and otherwise adjusting the statements, per lender requirements
  • Performing (or reviewing third-party) property inspections to verify sufficient maintenance of collateral, identify and report life safety issues, and other items of deferred maintenance
  • Maintaining a live risk rating for all projects within the assigned portfolio, inclusive of Watch List deals, and identifying/documenting project issues, trends and opportunities
  • Performing duties and responsibilities in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and lender servicing guides/agreements
  • Other duties as assigned
