About The Position

SharkNinja is seeking a Senior Art Director to join their in-house creative engine, Creative Labs. This role is for a conceptual powerhouse who leads with ideas and executes with precision, seeing campaigns as visual systems. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of what makes work culturally resonant, direct shoots, push design trends, and collaborate closely with copywriters and creative directors. This is a hybrid role, requiring 3 days a week in the NYC office.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of art direction experience at a creative agency, in-house team, or equivalent.
  • A portfolio demonstrating both conceptual range and executional craft.
  • Ability to build ideas from the ground up and carry them through execution.
  • Mastery of the Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
  • Fluency with AI-powered creative generative AI tools such as Weavy and Claude for accelerating visual execution and concepting.
  • Strong typographic instincts and a sophisticated understanding of layout, color, and visual hierarchy across digital and physical formats.
  • Proven experience directing photo and video production, including working with photographers, directors, and production teams on set.
  • Ability to give clear direction that improves work.
  • Cross-category versatility, able to art direct various formats (launch film, retail endcap, social campaign, product page) cohesively.
  • Cultural fluency and a strong point of view on relevant and current visual work.
  • Comfort working at speed without sacrificing craft.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with motion design or working closely with CGI and motion graphics artists.
  • Experience designing for global markets with an understanding of adapting visual systems across local cultures.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the visual concepting and art direction of campaigns across social, digital, video, OOH, retail, and experiential, from initial concept to final deliverable.
  • Develop campaign visual languages that are ownable, scalable, and adaptable across markets and touchpoints.
  • Collaborate with Copywriters and Creative Directors to create integrated campaign ideas where visual and verbal thinking are inseparable.
  • Direct photo and video shoots, including casting, mood boarding, storyboarding, briefing, and overseeing production.
  • Translate top-funnel campaign thinking into executions for retail, DTC, and social channels while maintaining creative integrity.
  • Stay current with design trends, visual culture, and emerging creative formats, bringing fresh references and pushing the team's visual vocabulary.
  • Contribute to the development of brand-level and product-level visual guidelines for global and local representation.
  • Think holistically across product categories, contributing wherever the work requires.
