About The Position

Konik is partnering with an integrated design firm seeking a Senior Architectural Designer to support complex federal healthcare projects. This role will serve as a technical expert, translating design concepts into detailed, constructible solutions and supporting projects through design development and construction document preparation. The ideal candidate will bring 15+ years of architectural design experience with a strong technical background, particularly within healthcare, government, institutional, or similarly complex project environments. This position is suited for a highly experienced architectural professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, mentoring others, and serving as a trusted resource throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of architectural design experience with a strong technical focus.
  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Architecture or equivalent professional experience.
  • Extensive experience producing construction documents and detailed architectural drawings.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, regulatory requirements, and construction processes.
  • Experience with complex projects such as healthcare, government, institutional, or public-sector facilities
  • Proficiency with Revit and architectural documentation workflows.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to independently lead technical assignments and provide guidance to project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a senior technical resource supporting complex architectural projects from concept through construction documentation.
  • Lead technical design development efforts, including detailing, material selections, specifications, and constructability reviews.
  • Investigate project requirements, evaluate technical solutions, and recommend design approaches.
  • Review architectural drawings, specifications, and project documentation to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Support healthcare and federal project requirements, including applicable building codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Conduct site investigations, field observations, and existing condition assessments.
  • Participate in or lead project meetings.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers and project team members.
