About The Position

Join the Network Operations Systems Group. Our team develops innovative solutions crucial to deploying and maintaining Akamai's global network which carries over 20% of the world's web traffic. We care about empowering Network Infrastructure, Operations and Engineering teams to work faster, reliably and more efficiently. You will be part of a diverse team that designs, develops and maintains high-reliability systems supporting Akamai's Connected Cloud of 300k+ servers located worldwide. As a Senior Architect, you will have an opportunity to work and collaborate in an international environment with cross-functional teams, including stakeholders and other developers, to deliver high-quality software solutions with a focus on automation, scalability and reliability.

Requirements

  • Have 12 years experience and a Bachelor's degree in computer science, or equivalent practical experience
  • Have solid experience in distributed system architecture design and implementation, with a track record of delivering scalable, reliable, and secure solutions
  • Present and support architectural and security designs and technical visions to internal cross-functional teams
  • Have experience in software development life cycle including in the Unix/Linux environment

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with product management and engineering teams to describe and design solutions aligned with Akamai's strategy and roadmap.
  • Presenting and supporting architectural designs and technical visions to internal cross-functional teams
  • Defining and implementing standards for systems design, development, comprehensive testing and quality assurance practices
  • Designing reliable, high-quality, usable software that meets the needs of our business for robust, scalable, and highly available systems
  • Conducting research on emerging trends and technologies related to network operations and automation
