About The Position

Weston and Sampson is seeking Senior Architectural Project Managers with 16+ years’ experience for our Rhinebeck, NY office. The role involves managing architectural design projects for the Facility group’s clients, supporting other engineering discipline groups, and contributing to the expansion of the Facility group’s project base. The position requires leading and supporting multi-disciplinary project teams in the planning and design of new and renovated facilities, covering programming, conceptual planning, construction document preparation, and construction administration. Responsibilities also include client networking, business development (writing proposals, meeting clients, defining scopes of work), working directly with clients to establish project needs, supporting budgeting and permitting processes, and participating in professional organizations and internal committees. The role also involves mentoring junior staff and contributing to the growth of the Architectural practice.

Requirements

  • 16+ years of substantial experience as a productive member of a project design team with strong technical and Revit skills
  • Ability to function comfortably, gain trust, confidence and deal effectively with a wide range of individuals including consultants, contractors and facilities project team members
  • Proven ability to function in all phases of project development from schematic design through contract administration
  • REVIT/BIM fluency is mandatory
  • Strong construction experience and knowledge of architectural technical detailing
  • Thorough knowledge of building codes
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to lead a project team and guide production of construction documents, including coordination with internal and external engineering disciplines
  • Professional degree required
  • Architectural License
  • Valid driver's license

Responsibilities

  • Management of architectural design projects for the Facility group’s clients
  • Supporting the company’s other engineering discipline groups
  • Participating and contributing to the expansion of the Facility group’s growing project base
  • Lead and support multi-disciplinary project teams in the planning and design of new and renovated facilities
  • Programming and conceptual planning through construction document preparation and construction administration
  • Network with new and existing clients by responding via direct requests and/or proposals
  • Conduct business development including writing proposals, meeting with clients, and preparing details scopes of work
  • Work directly with clients to establish project and programming needs
  • Support projects through budgeting and permitting processes, including working with estimators to prepare construction and project costs, leading the project through permitting agencies and committees, and assisting the client in acquiring funding through public hearings and meetings
  • Participate in professional organizations and internal committees and/or groups
  • Collaborate and build strong working relationships with internal multi-disciplinary teams
  • Mentor and guide the development of junior staff and participate in the growth our Architectural practice
