About The Position

TransUnion's Global Technology Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) team is seeking a senior technical leader to manage the technology lifecycle of global transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, investments, and corporate carve-outs. This role requires a combination of deep enterprise architectural expertise, financial understanding, and efficient deal execution. The position involves two main phases: conducting technical due diligence before closing to inform valuations, and managing complex integration or separation activities after closing. The role reports to the Senior Director, M&A Global Technology.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years in enterprise architecture, engineering leadership, or technical consulting.
• At least 2 years dedicated to leading global M&A transactions.
• Documented success leading transactions from pre-diligence scoping through to final post-close integration or complex carve-out separation.
• Direct experience creating, negotiating, tracking, and exiting technology TSAs for corporate divestitures.
• Deep expertise in cloud-native architectures, enterprise application integration (EAI), software engineering (including code quality and SDLC evaluation), data engineering/analytics pipelines, and modern cybersecurity frameworks.
• Proficiency in building technology cost models (CapEx/OpEx) during diligence and managing multi-million dollar integration budgets post-close.

Nice To Haves

• Experience executing M&A within highly regulated data, fintech, financial services, or credit-reporting environments.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related technical field.
• Relevant industry credentials (e.g., AWS/Azure Solutions Architect, CISSP, Certified M&A Professional).

Responsibilities

• Lead deep-dive architectural assessments of target companies' infrastructure, application stacks, code quality, and data layers to identify technical debt, scalability limits, and operational risks.
• Define and articulate strategic options to align target companies' applications, data assets, and back-office systems with TransUnion’s global enterprise architecture and InfoSec standards.
• Build detailed, data-driven technology cost models during diligence, forecasting the capital expenditures (CapEx) and operational expenses (OpEx) required for migration or standalone readiness.
• Partner closely with Corporate Development and Business Development teams to feed technology risks, integration costs, and runway synergies directly into the final financial deal valuation.
• Design and execute detailed post-close technology integration schedules, transitioning targets smoothly from Day 1 readiness to full target-state operations.
• Define, operationalize, and govern technology Transition Service Agreements (TSAs) for divestitures; rigorously track delivery milestones to ensure rapid, secure TSA exits and eliminate stranded costs.
• Drive the physical and logical consolidation of global cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure), legacy data centers, and enterprise back-office systems.
• Manage and track post-close technology integration budgets, monitoring actual spend against pre-close forecasts and reporting variances directly to executive leadership.
• Act as the primary executive escalation point to unblock engineering teams, resolve complex architectural bottlenecks, and align cross-functional streams (Legal, HR, Security).
