About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a Sr. Architect/ Project Manager, US Federal to join its government studio. This position collaborates with a diverse and creative team, dedicated to excellence in design and innovative problem solving. This position requires someone who coordinates with the client and internal team members, and supports the development of design. We are looking for experienced, technically proficient, and personable candidates passionate about continued expansion of Arcadis service offerings within the Federal sector and specifically focused on military construction design and engineering. Working with Account Leads, you will support the strategic expansion of our Defense market based on your experience and relationships, provide technical input into successful project and program scopes, interact directly with clients regarding both existing and potential future projects, and engage both our internal client development organization and engineering team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or similar
  • Must be U.S. Citizen
  • 12+ years of design experience within architecture, engineering, or design consulting environments.
  • Proven experience leading complex projects from concept design through construction.
  • Experience working on US DoD projects and coordination with federal stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of UFCs, building codes, accessibility legislation, and sustainable design principles.
  • Strong client-facing, presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience mentoring and developing junior team members.
  • Advanced skills in Rhino, SketchUp, Photoshop & Illustrator
  • Basic proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Miro

Responsibilities

  • Lead design projects through all phases of planning, design, documentation, and construction administration.
  • Develop innovative concepts and user-centered design solutions.
  • Prepare design presentations and client deliverables.
  • Communicate openly, embrace mentorship and nurture the next generation of designers.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, engineers, landscape architects, and project managers.
  • Manage client relationships and participate in workshops, presentations, stakeholder consultations, and design reviews.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and intermediate designers.
  • Oversee project schedules, budgets, design quality, and resource planning.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, accessibility requirements, life-safety standards, and sustainability objectives.
  • Coordinate with external consultants, contractors, vendors, and suppliers throughout project delivery.
  • Support business development activities through proposal preparation, presentations, and client engagement.
  • Contribute to design excellence initiatives, innovation, and best practice development within the studio.
