About The Position

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Applied AI Engineer to lead the rebuild of its toolchain around AI within the Silicon Co-Design Group (SCG). This group is responsible for bringing NVIDIA's products to life, focusing on the silicon layer from pre-silicon estimates to firmware and customer specifications. The role centers on optimizing and automating simulation and configuration engines using AI, which feed downstream firmware, manufacturing, and specification systems. The engineer will translate chip behavior into firmware-ready contracts, build agents to understand complex chip feature interactions, and develop evaluations to prevent product defects. This is an opportunity to use AI to shape the world's AI platform, impacting every product NVIDIA ships.

Requirements

BS or MS in EE/CE/CS (or equivalent experience).
8+ years in silicon bringup, firmware, or productization engineering.
Deployed multiple production Python services and data pipelines.
Deployed at least one LLM-backed system that SMEs depend on for their everyday work.
Ability to read silicon characterization outputs (speed, power, voltage noise, or binning) and understand the tradeoffs.
Ability to form a working opinion of new AI tooling within a week of release, based on practical application rather than just reading blog posts.

Responsibilities

Simulate power controller interplay, voltage-frequency operating points, and binning yields.
Build systems to push performance and power efficiency.
Translate silicon and firmware behavior into context engineering.
Break down silicon product optimization workflows into composable skills, hybrid retrieval stages, and orchestration layers.
Integrate silicon productization tools into a custom agent harness, defining tool registries, webhooks, trace capture, and human-in-the-loop checkpoints.
Lead eval-driven development for applied AI in production, including error analysis on real silicon workflows, automated scorers of HW reasoning, and CI regression gates.
Help set the team's AI direction.
Mentor and grow engineers on the team.
