About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Senior Applications Engineer - Aftermarket business. The position will be based at our facility in Fayetteville, NC. We are offering relocation assistance for candidates who reside within the U.S. The expected annual salary range for this role is $86000 - $115,000.00 a year. The primary function of the Senior Applications Engineer is to provide applications engineering for product line support. This includes, but is not limited to: engineering designs, providing direction to application engineers and designers, and collaborating with direct customers/field sales. Emphasis is on working with electrical, electro-mechanical, programmable logic controllers, and solid-state controls in motor control applications and electrical distribution systems. The role requires maintaining familiarity with communications protocols, variable speed drives and solid-state starters in order to maintain design standards. The engineer will manage large projects to completion within deadlines with little or no supervision. They will interpret customer one-line diagrams and specifications to determine order requirements and apply Eaton designs to meet customer’s expectations. This role performs standard engineering assignments often representing a significant portion of a larger project for Eaton. Coordination with other Eaton product lines and business units is necessary to ensure quality of products to the end customer. Responsibilities also include the set-up and programming of PLC, HMI/MMI applications and electronic relays, and generating electrical schematics and mechanical layouts based on information received from Sales and Marketing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of one (1) year of engineering experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment (internships and co-ops count towards this experience)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Previous experience and/or knowledge of electrical distribution equipment
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and other engineering and design software programs
  • Working knowledge of N.E.C., IEEE, UL, and various local electric codes.
  • Ability to interpret both customer specifications and electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Utilization of substantial motor control product knowledge for communication with field sales, customers, engineering, and manufacturing personnel
