About The Position

Osmoflo is seeking an experienced Senior Process Engineer to join our Pre-Contracts team in Burton. In this hands-on role, you will lead bid development, design tailored water treatment solutions, and work closely with internal teams to develop aligned technico-commercial strategies that support successful bids. Working closely with the Sales team, you will support client engagement by participating in Early Contractor Involvement (ECIs) and client meetings and providing technical expertise throughout the opportunity development process. Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Process or Chemical Engineering.
  • More than 5 years’ experience in process design within the water treatment industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of water chemistry and water treatment technologies, particularly membrane filtration.
  • An understanding of the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines and Australian Guidelines for Water Recycling.
  • Experience reviewing and applying Australian and engineering standards used by the resources and municipal sectors in Australia and internationally.
  • Experience providing process or proposal support to co-located or remote Sales and Project teams.
  • Strong technical design, analytical and problem-solving capability.
  • Excellent written and verbal English, particularly in technical communication.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of project management, project delivery, cost estimation, electrical and control systems, remote monitoring, international water standards and the broader water treatment market will be viewed favourably.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in client meetings and provide technical support to sales representatives.
  • Develop tailored, competitive technico-commercial solutions across a diverse range of water treatment technologies.
  • Develop concept designs, process solutions and supporting technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to refine process solutions, designs and budgetary pricing.
  • Support opportunity development and maintain customer engagement throughout the development phase.
  • Prepare accurate, high-quality budget proposals aligned with customer needs.
  • Lead the development of technically sound and competitive bids.
  • Review tender documentation, technical requirements, scopes of work and engineering specifications.
  • Recommend bid strategies and work with cross-functional bid teams to develop effective process solutions.
  • Oversee the preparation of preliminary design documentation, including Basis of Design documents, RO projections, PFDs, P&IDs, general arrangements, equipment schedules and control lists.
  • Work with Estimators to prepare supplier requests, review quotations and confirm compliance with technical and cost requirements.
  • Lead Early Contractor Involvement opportunities.
  • Develop process solution options, scopes of work and deliverables for ECI proposals.
  • Support the Rentals team in selecting appropriate process solutions using existing or new rental assets.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide constructive technical guidance.
  • Help develop and maintain design guidelines, principles and procedures.
  • Share knowledge of emerging technologies, industry developments and process improvements.
  • Promote collaborative problem-solving and continuous learning across the team.
  • Contribute technical expertise to the assessment and development of new products and solutions.
