Serve as the technical lead for product engineering projects including product line extensions, sustaining engineering, feasibility studies, prototype builds, customer informed iterations, validation testing, and agency certification. Develop new designs based on existing product to accommodate unique customer needs and evolving applications in the power connections industry. Optimize designs for manufacturability (DFM), cost reduction, supply chain risk mitigation, and industry driven changes. Develop complete and accurate material, component, and product specifications, ensuring alignment with quality standards and supporting the creation of robust quality assurance procedures. Plan, execute, and refine engineering tasks by translating product targets into technical requirements, defining clear milestones, and maintaining a prioritized engineering backlog that supports product engineering initiatives. Validate mechanical designs through rigorous testing, iterative prototyping, performance evaluations and coordination of third party compliance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, quality, sourcing, product development (NPI), product management and sales to support launch readiness. Maintain accountability for engineering deliverables within project management process, including Sustaining and New Product Introduction processes.
