About The Position

The Senior Applications Developer supports SeGOV and Middleware systems that protect sensitive information used by programs across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The role focuses on strengthening secure file transfer capabilities and guiding the use of technologies that support enterprise needs. It includes leading developers, improving MOVEit processes, designing middleware integrations, resolving system issues, creating automation tools, and helping staff use secure file transfer tools and related applications.

Requirements

• Meet one of the following experience and training paths: one year as an Applications Developer 2 or Computer Programmer 4 (Commonwealth job titles or equivalent Federal Government job titles, as determined by the Office of Administration); five years of information technology experience, including three years in applications development or applications maintenance; three years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance and an associate’s degree in any information technology field; one year of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance and a bachelor’s degree in any information technology field; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Meet the Pennsylvania residency requirement.
• Be able to perform the essential job functions.

Responsibilities

• Guide and supervise developer staff working with middleware and secure file transfer tools.
• Manage and improve MOVEit processes that support safe and reliable data exchange across applications.
• Work with teams to define requirements and design solutions connecting middleware systems with automated file workflows.
• Diagnose and resolve file transfer and system connectivity problems to maintain continuous operations.
• Create scripts and tools to improve workflows, system efficiency, and enterprise automation.
• Provide training and assistance to staff using secure file transfer tools and related applications.
