About The Position
At iKnowHow S.A., the Senior Application & Software Developer will help design and deliver enterprise software solutions that support organizations’ digital transformation. The role leads the design of modern enterprise applications throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), defines application architecture, and drives technical decisions. Solutions should be scalable, secure, and maintainable, leveraging Microsoft Azure application services and modern AI capabilities where they add business value. The position involves developing, configuring, maintaining, integrating, and documenting software components; implementing user requirements; developing interoperability components for the sBMS architecture; testing and reviewing code; mentoring junior developers; contributing to technical documentation; and assisting with deployments across QA, pre-production, and production environments.
Requirements
- Ability to understand IT design models and specifications and use them as a basis for programming.
- In-depth knowledge of the applicable programming environment, primarily Java and Spring Boot microservices.
- Good knowledge of web and multi-tier web application development.
- Good knowledge of the project’s web services stack: REST, gRPC, and Kafka/IBM Event Streams.
- Ability to work with containerised platforms and tools: OpenShift/Kubernetes, Docker/Podman, Helm, and Istio.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools: GitHub CI/CD, ArgoCD, JFrog Artifactory, SonarQube, and Fortify.
- Experience with observability tooling: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Vector, Kibana), and Splunk.
- Experience with CASE or modelling tools, such as Sparx Enterprise Architect and UML 2.x diagrams.
- Ability to cope with fast-changing technologies in application development.
- Experience and willingness to work in an international or multicultural environment.
- Written and spoken English at minimum C1 level (CEFR).
Responsibilities
- Develop, configure, maintain, and document software components based on applicable design specifications.
- Develop and integrate technological components within the sBMS architecture.
- Develop interoperability components in accordance with the EU interoperability framework, reusing components from adjacent systems where applicable.
- Develop unit test specifications and execute them using the applicable toolset and infrastructure environment.
- Design automation testing scripts for unit and integration testing in the development environment.
- Participate in code reviews to promote development best practices, improve code quality and security, and share knowledge.
- Guide and mentor junior developers to foster skill growth and technical cohesion across the development team.
- Implement user requirements specified by the Product Owner and Business Analyst team.
- Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of technical documentation, including installation and operation manuals.
- Assist with system deployment and configuration in QA, pre-production, and production environments.
- Lead the design of modern enterprise applications throughout the SDLC, define application architecture, and drive technical decisions.
