About The Position

Sophos is hiring a Senior Application Programming Developer to design, develop, and support enterprise-grade applications and solutions on the Salesforce platform. The role includes Salesforce configuration, customization, and integration, as well as building proof-of-concept applications to demonstrate feasibility and address stakeholder and product-owner business challenges. The developer analyzes complex business and functional requirements and designs scalable, maintainable, high-performance applications using industry best practices. The position leads estimation and planning for complex development work, monitors progress against milestones, and coordinates Salesforce assignments across cross-functional teams. It also involves analyzing business problems using data and testing frameworks, documenting results, and creating and maintaining test scripts and documentation. The developer writes and documents Apex code, manages deliverables and timelines, mentors junior developers, reviews code, and serves as a technical consultant to IT leadership and user groups. Participation in requirements gathering, stakeholder meetings, and Agile scrum activities is expected, along with leading complex technical issue resolution and documenting implementation frameworks and changes. The role reports to the headquarters at 3090 Nowitzki Way, Dallas, Texas. Telecommuting is permissible from a home office anywhere in the United States. Sophos describes its work model as remote-first, while noting that some roles may require a hybrid approach. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical field, or foreign degree equivalent.
At least 5 years of experience with application development.
At least 5 years of experience with Salesforce.com configuration and customization and CRM development.
At least 5 years of experience with Apex, Web Services Description Language (WSDL), and RESTful APIs.
At least 5 years of experience using Maven, Ant, Jenkins, and GitHub for CI/CD and version control.
At least 5 years of experience with Agile development methodologies and JIRA.
At least 5 years of experience with Object-Oriented Design principles, data structures, and algorithms.

Responsibilities

Design and develop enterprise-grade Salesforce applications and solutions, including configuration, customization, and integration.
Build and present proof-of-concept applications to demonstrate feasibility and address stakeholder and product-owner business challenges.
Analyze complex business and functional requirements and design scalable, maintainable, high-performance applications following industry best practices.
Lead estimation for complex development projects and track progress against defined milestones.
Analyze business problems using data and testing frameworks; evaluate and document test results for quality assurance.
Create and maintain testing scripts and documentation to support ongoing quality and reproducibility.
Plan, coordinate, and lead Salesforce application development assignments across cross-functional teams.
Write clean, efficient, well-documented Apex code and manage project timelines and deliverables.
Guide and mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, assist with training, and delegate tasks.
Advise IT leadership and user groups on Salesforce capabilities, limitations, and best practices.
Participate in requirements-gathering sessions, stakeholder meetings, and daily Agile scrum calls for sprint planning and progress updates.
Lead resolution of complex technical issues, review peer code contributions, and document implementation frameworks and changes.
