About The Position

Join a global financial services organization supporting sophisticated investment banking operations through innovative technology solutions. The team develops and enhances enterprise applications to streamline business processes, improve operational efficiency, and provide secure, reliable technology services. Working with technology professionals and business stakeholders, the developer will contribute to application modernization, workflow automation, and system integrations in a complex financial services setting. This is a 12-month W2 assignment in Charlotte, NC, with a hybrid work arrangement; C2C and 1099 arrangements are not accepted. The developer will design, build, and enhance enterprise applications using Appian, business process management technologies, and modern web development frameworks. The role spans user interfaces, backend functionality, SQL and database work, REST API integrations, workflow models, and reusable application components. It also supports troubleshooting, quality assurance, documentation, application upgrades, production stability, and secure software delivery practices.

Requirements

5–7 years of professional experience in Appian application development, business process management, or full stack software development.
Strong front-end development experience using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern web frameworks.
Hands-on experience developing applications that interact with SQL Server or other relational databases.
Strong SQL programming skills, including complex queries, query optimization, and database performance improvements.
Experience designing, developing, and consuming RESTful APIs.
Familiarity with Git or comparable source control technologies.
Understanding of DevOps methodologies, automated deployments, and CI/CD pipelines.
Ability to work across user interfaces, backend application logic, databases, and integrations.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
Proven ability to manage multiple assignments and meet competing deadlines.

Nice To Haves

Hands-on experience with Appian SAIL, Records, Process Modeling, Integrations, and Web APIs.
Experience administering or configuring Appian within self-managed environments.
Exposure to Python and Flask for backend application development.
Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerized application environments.
Professional experience supporting investment banking or financial services technology.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and enhance enterprise applications using Appian, business process management technologies, and modern web development frameworks.
Build user interfaces, automate business workflows, and develop backend functionality supporting business operations.
Translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliver maintainable application solutions.
Develop and optimize SQL queries, database interactions, and data access components to improve application performance.
Design and implement RESTful APIs connecting applications with internal and external systems.
Develop and maintain workflow models, application integrations, and reusable components.
Collaborate with quality assurance teams to investigate defects, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement corrective solutions.
Maintain technical documentation covering application functionality, system architecture, and development processes.
Support application enhancements, debugging, upgrades, and ongoing production stability.
Apply version control, CI/CD practices, and secure development standards throughout the software development lifecycle.
Manage competing development priorities while maintaining quality and delivery commitments.
