Senior AppDev Consultant (React/Python/AWS)
About The Position
Trility Consulting is actively seeking a Senior AppDev Consultant who is an expert in modern application development and enjoys building scalable solutions from the ground up. In this role, you will partner closely with a Trility client to rapidly design, build, and iterate on a modern application platform intended to replace a legacy third-party system. This engagement centers around a Proof of Concept (PoC) initiative focused on streamlining the annuity application process for agents through improved workflows, automation, and direct integration with internal systems. The ideal consultant is highly hands-on, comfortable operating in fast-moving environments, and excited to leverage modern development practices and AI-assisted tooling to accelerate delivery. This is a remote 1099 contract position anticipated to last approximately 2 months, with potential for extension.
Requirements
- 5+ years of full-stack application development experience
- Strong frontend experience with React and TypeScript
- Backend development experience using Python and FastAPI
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating with enterprise systems
- Experience working with PostgreSQL databases, including schema design and query optimization
- Hands-on experience working within AWS cloud environments
- Experience managing infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code practices, preferably using CloudFormation
- Familiarity with modern CI/CD workflows, source control practices, and collaborative development processes
- Comfort working in fast-paced consulting or product development environments with evolving requirements
- Curiosity and openness toward modern AI-assisted development workflows and agentic tooling
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams
- Must reside within the United States
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
- Must be able to pass a background check
Nice To Haves
- Experience with automated testing practices and building maintainable, reliable application code is a plus
Responsibilities
- Design and develop modern full-stack application features using React, TypeScript, Python, and FastAPI
- Build intuitive, high-quality user experiences that streamline complex workflows for business users
- Develop backend APIs and services that integrate with internal enterprise systems and downstream workflows
- Help modernize and simplify legacy operational processes through thoughtful application design and automation
- Build and optimize PostgreSQL database interactions within AWS RDS environments
- Deploy and manage cloud-native applications within AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code practices with CloudFormation
- Collaborate closely with client stakeholders, product owners, and fellow developers to rapidly iterate on requirements and solutions
- Support document generation workflows and downstream policy system integrations
- Leverage modern AI-assisted development tooling, including ClaudeCode, to accelerate development and improve delivery efficiency
- Contribute to code quality, maintainability, testing, and deployment best practices throughout the engagement
