The ComplianceAlpha SaaS platform integrates risk and compliance management, communications, and market surveillance. This is a hybrid role (2-3 days in the office) located in Durham, NC or Pittsburgh. The technology team prides itself on an innovative approach, leveraging modern architecture and GenAI for intelligent solutions. As a cloud-native SaaS provider, they ensure scalability, security, and performance. The agile team works collaboratively to create cutting-edge, reliable, and user-friendly products. The UI platform is built on a micro-frontend architecture with module federation and a shared design system. They are seeking a Front end Lead Engineer / Architect to serve as the technical and strategic leader for their UI platform, defining and driving the architecture, standards, and evolution of their frontend ecosystem across a large-scale, multi-module SaaS application. The ideal candidate is an Angular expert with deep experience in micro-frontends, design systems, and large-scale UI platforms, possessing a strong point of view on modern frontend architecture, performance, developer experience (DX), and future-facing technologies like AI-assisted development. The successful candidate will drive the technology product line to establish ACA Group as the premier Reg Tech company globally.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of frontend engineering experience, including significant hands-on work with modern Angular and TypeScript.
  • Proven experience leading frontend architecture for complex SaaS platforms, preferably with micro-frontends (module federation) and multi-team UI delivery.
  • Deep understanding of design systems, shared component libraries, Storybook, styling architecture, tokens, accessibility, and reusable UI patterns.
  • Strong knowledge of modern frontend tooling and practices, including Nx or similar build systems, testing frameworks, CI/CD, versioning, and dependency management.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve frontend performance, scalability, maintainability, and developer experience across multiple teams.
  • Ability to communicate architectural direction clearly, influence cross-functional teams, mentor engineers, and balance strategic leadership with hands-on technical depth.
  • Bachelor’s degree required for candidate consideration.

  • MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve the frontend architecture strategy for a large, multi-module Angular platform using micro-frontends and Module Federation.
  • Establish practical UI engineering standards for Angular, TypeScript, state management, signals, real-time data patterns, accessibility, and maintainable component design.
  • Own the shared design system approach, including component library governance, Storybook, design tokens, theming, stylesheets, and cross-application consistency.
  • Guide DevOps and developer experience for frontend, including dependency management, build tooling, testing frameworks, CI/CD, and release practices.
  • Drive frontend performance best practices such as bundle optimization, lazy loading, and runtime performance monitoring.
  • Partner with product, design, architecture, and engineering teams to align UI strategy with product goals and mentor teams toward consistent implementation.
  • Evaluate emerging frontend technologies and AI-assisted development practices to improve UX, UI delivery, and developer productivity.
