The Senior Android Engineer will design, build, and evolve high-quality Android experiences using Kotlin and modern Android frameworks. This person will own consequential technical decisions, partner closely with product, design, backend, quality, and iOS peers, and help the team ship reliable customer value. The ideal candidate has deep Android expertise and enough hands-on iOS experience to reason about platform tradeoffs, review shared mobile patterns, and occasionally contribute targeted Swift or SwiftUI changes when useful. Core responsibilities Own the design and implementation of complex Android features from discovery through monitoring after release. Set and evolve technical direction for Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, app architecture, modularization, networking, persistence, and dependency management. Write clear technical designs; surface tradeoffs, risks, dependencies, and migration plans before implementation. Build accessible, responsive interfaces in close partnership with product design and research. Improve automated testing across unit, integration, UI, and end-to-end layers; make quality an everyday engineering practice. Strengthen observability, performance, crash health, security, privacy, and release confidence for the Android app. Partner with backend and platform teams on API contracts, offline behavior, authentication, experimentation, and analytics. Collaborate with iOS engineers on shared product behavior and mobile standards while respecting platform-native conventions. Review code thoughtfully, mentor engineers, and raise the quality of technical decisions without becoming a delivery bottleneck. Participate in planning, estimation, incident response, and continuous improvement of the mobile delivery process. This position will be in one of the following locations: Falls Church, VA, Aurora, CO, San Antonio, TX, or Tacoma, WA.
