About The Position

As a Senior Analytics Engineer on NRG’s Analytics Engineering and Data Warehousing team, you will develop core services that provide data across the enterprise. You will build data models that support important operational and strategic data-driven decisions. Working closely with finance teams, you will build and help maintain a data warehouse platform that provides timely, accurate, and reliable data used to determine performance KPIs and commissions for thousands of employees.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of data modeling and data warehousing development experience using dbt, SSIS, Matillion, or similar tools.
• Expertise in SQL and cloud data warehouse design principles.
• At least 2 years of professional experience with Snowflake, Redshift, Data Factory, or BigQuery; Snowflake is preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience with Git, code reviews, and CI/CD environments.
• Ability to communicate effectively with business leaders and engineers, prioritize high-impact opportunities, distinguish essential needs from nice-to-haves, and make sound trade-offs.
• BA/BS or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, another technical field, or relevant work experience.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with SSIS.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, .NET, or R.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with data analytics teams and business leaders to understand their goals, initiatives, and data solution needs.
• Help design, build, and maintain an enterprise data warehouse platform, including its data models and data transformation pipelines.
• Implement best practices and innovative solutions to provide timely, accurate, and reliable data.
• Help implement a high-performing Snowflake data warehouse platform serving thousands of users and a broad range of use cases.
• Evaluate and optimize data architecture deployment to improve efficiency and reliability.
