This specific role is for a Senior Analyst at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, supporting the USAFSAM Area B, Bldg 840 in Dayton, OH.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Statistics, or Operations Research.
• Minimum of three years of experience in their field of expertise.
• Current Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) training.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience with statistics in a healthcare or military environment.
• Demonstrated advanced analytical skills in statistics and study design and execution.
• Demonstrated expertise in descriptive statistics.
• Demonstrated expertise in Statistical Analysis System/Enterprise Guide (SAS/SAS EG).
• A signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) in place based on potential access to confidential, proprietary, and/or sensitive information, to be provided to the Government Program Manager by the start of performance.

• 5+ years of experience in analysis in the medical field or the military.

Responsibilities

• Provide subject matter expertise for statistical analysis of the impact of accession conditions on longer-term Air Force outcomes like duty performance and retention.
• Perform statistical analysis of existing data sets and create datasets for statistical analysis in SAS/EG.
• Scope and design projects, develop, monitor, and report on timelines and milestones, and produce progress reports.
• Assist in creating useful stratification methods for analyzing data sets based on ICD codes or other criteria.
• Assist in developing credible, theoretically driven statistical models exploring relationships between variables in the AVHE environment and outcomes of interest to the Air Force.
• Perform validation and verification protocols under guidance to ensure product performance and assist in corrections if models fail to perform to standard.
• Assist in drafting written communication for internal and external purposes.
• Participate as a health statistics expert in interdisciplinary planning and analysis.
• Acquire necessary data access permissions.
• Use Air Force medical records systems and standards in job performance.
• Utilize all relevant data repositories as part of work or generated during work.
• Collect data from various databases pursuant to agreements with database owners.
• Establish the relationship of available data to existing data sets, map data between elements and code, establish data storage architecture requirements, and create a comprehensive data dictionary.
• Provide conference support assistance through active participation in professional conferences, preparation of posters and presentations, and publication of peer-reviewed manuscripts.
• Brief study findings at appropriate meetings or forums as determined by the Government.
• Provide technical automation support for all versions of MS Windows, Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Publisher), MS SQL, and Adobe.
• Provide data creation and administration in support of model development, analysis, and publication.
• Document computer code used in accordance with USAFSAM programming standards and standard commercial practices.
• Assist in briefings and production of documents to transfer knowledge of study products to customers (Air Force Recruiting Service (AFRS) and Air Force at large).
