As a public broadcaster, our content lives everywhere—from traditional airwaves to streaming platforms and social media. We are looking for a Senior Analyst to serve as the architect and guardian of our knowledge of our metadata ecosystem. In this role, you will support in building the linguistic and structural framework that allows our vast library of content to be discoverable, interoperable, and future-proof. You will bridge the gap between creative content production and high-level data science, ensuring our Semantics and Metadata (SaM) team has the insights needed to drive enterprise-wide systems. Your work will support change management initiatives through innovative discovery work, data gathering, analysis and building recommendations for the optimization of business processes related to Content Management and Metadata Governance.

Requirements

  • Expertise in Structured Metadata Standards.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools.
  • Experience with Enterprise Interoperability—understanding how metadata flows between disparate broadcast and digital systems.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to turn audit results into visual dashboards.
  • Ability to gather information using both qualitative and quantitative approaches.
  • The "Translator": Ability to explain the importance of a schema to a busy video editor just as easily as to a software developer.
  • Detail-Oriented: A natural inclination toward accuracy and the patience for deep-dive data auditing.
  • Curiosity: A willingness to question existing practices and challenge generally accepted understandings not supported by data.
  • Experimentation: Open to experimenting with new ideas and practices.Experiments are all about trial and error and success. It's how we learn.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to identify and analyze multiple factors, some of which may at times be ambiguous. May require application of innovative thinking to develop solutions to complex problems, often with guidance and support from senior roles.
  • Collaborative: Foster a collaborative environment through nimble communication and relationship building across all organizational levels
  • University Degree in Library Science or the equivalent with experience in libraries and archives work.

Responsibilities

  • Build and refine metadata dictionaries tailored to evolving production needs.
  • Create complex flow maps and visualizations to illustrate how metadata travels through our ecosystem.
  • Build and maintain a centralized "Metadata Hub" to serve as the single source of truth for all metadata documentation.
  • Conduct regular audits of metadata dictionaries to ensure compliance, accuracy, and technical integrity. Auditing includes research and user feedback to surface any areas of concern or opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and manage interactive dashboards to track governance activities, metadata changes, and system-wide compliance.
  • Generate deep-dive analytics on metadata usage and efficacy to prove Return On Investment (ROI) and identify areas for structural improvement.
  • Employs facilitation methods to provide guidance and support for stakeholders around change management initiatives. Applies continuous improvement practices to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Provide high-level context and strategy for how metadata functions across large-scale enterprise systems.
  • Act as a consultant for internal teams, translating complex data structures into actionable insights for producers and engineers. You will use a variety of of methods to define and document problem/opportunity statements and measures of success
  • Support SaM team projects by researching emerging industry standards and providing expert recommendations. Recommendations will be built through analyzing and distilling data using tools such as surveys, dashboards, and others to anticipate future needs and impacts of proposed changes.
  • Generate use cases and comprehensive documentation to socialize metadata standards across the organization.
  • Design and lead training modules to promote good "metadata hygiene" among content creators and technical staff.
