About The Position

This position is primarily responsible for ensuring QSC’s compliance with trade laws, trade business processes, and regulations in the United States, Mexico, Canada, and the rest of QSC’s business in Latin America, in accordance with corporate policies and frameworks. This role supports the day-to-day execution, administration, and continuous improvement of customs and trade processes that support compliant and efficient movement of goods across the Americas. This role serves as the operational lead for import and export activities, broker and agent management, trade documentation, restricted party screening, classification, free trade agreement administration, duty drawback processes, and special trade programs. The role partners closely with Trade Compliance to ensure operational processes align with global trade policies, regulatory expectations, audit requirements, and business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or similar certifications in a relevant field (International Business and Trade, Logistics, etc.) or equivalent work experience.
  • 5-10 years of experience in a Trade Compliance role with deep knowledge of compliance processes and how they integrate with other business functions.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (both verbal and written) is strictly required to support the Americas region.
  • Experience with Global Trade Management (GTM) modules, compliance systems, or software.
  • Experience with cross-functional teams implementing system changes based on legal/user requirements.
  • In-depth knowledge of USHTS/HS, country of origin, free trade agreements, and U.S. EAR; working knowledge of ACE, SNAP-R, and familiarity with the LATAM import/export environment.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills with the ability to present conclusions clearly; strong communication skills; ability to promote a robust compliance culture and ethical business practices.
  • Non-supervisory role. Allowed to make certain non-revenue affecting regional decisions, with monetary decisions kept within strictly designated parameters.

Responsibilities

  • Operate collaboratively with Trade Compliance and business teams to understand US, Mexico, Canada, and LATAM trade compliance regulations associated with QSC’s imports and exports to and from the region to enable effective trade controls and business execution.
  • Provide decision-oriented expertise on customs classification (USHTS/HS), valuation, country of origin, special trade programs, and export controls for the Americas.
  • Work cross-functionally to develop and implement process improvements for import/export activities and actively contribute to the delivery of the regional compliance program.
  • Develop, maintain, and implement regional trade compliance processes aligned with corporate policies and global procedures.
  • Support customs and trade related audits and implement corrective action plans to mitigate identified compliance risks.
  • Monitor daily regional operations to ensure compliance; communicate regulatory updates and provide guidance/training to stakeholders; escalate critical issues to the Sr. Manager, Global Trade Compliance Operations.
