As a part of the Walmart Supply Chain organization, you will contribute to the success of our Transportation Network! This team plays a vital role in optimizing shipment operations by integrating technology and process improvements to enhance cost efficiency and service quality. Focused on delivering exceptional value to customers, the team collaborates across functions to implement sustainable solutions and drive continuous improvement. As a key part of retail transformation, the team supports operational excellence through data analysis, root cause resolution, and strategic planning, ensuring timely and effective execution aligned with Walmart’s commitment to customer satisfaction and business success.

Requirements

  • A background in transportation operations (+2yrs) or bachelor’s degree

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field OR 2 years’ experience in logistics, distribution, transportation, or related area.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and steer a comprehensive network of reliable carriers, prioritizing efficient and cost-effective freight movement.
  • Negotiate competitive rates with carriers to drive profitability, minimize cost, and exceed service requirements while exercising sound judgment and strategic thinking.
  • Book loads tendered from customers, trace loads as needed, and handle any other related duties.
  • Provide exceptional service to both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring needs and expectations are consistently met or exceeded, and building strong relationships.
  • Effectively communicate with drivers, customers, and internal teams through written and verbal means, ensuring timely updates and resolution of any issues, while fostering open collaboration.
  • Employ critical thinking and sound decision-making skills to resolve operational problems and optimize carrier performance, demonstrating resourcefulness and adaptability.
  • Embrace a customer-centric mindset, identifying opportunities for process improvements and suggesting solutions to enhance operational efficiency, driving innovation and progress.
