About The Position

The Senior Analyst, Research will support the commercial leasing and capital markets brokerage efforts, primarily focusing of the office sector, within the larger Denver and Salt Lake City markets. This includes evaluating, analysing, and communicating commercial real estate dynamics to tenants, investors, and brokers as the market changes and evolves with modern real estate needs. The Senior Research Analyst will support the Rocky Mountain Research team by using data from JLL and other sources to analyse industry trends and effectively tell a clear and compelling story about current and forward-looking trends that will enable JLL and its clients to be more effective, competitive, and successful in the real estate marketplace. You will work closely with external research colleagues, brokerage professionals and clients engaged in these industry areas and markets, as well as with research colleagues across JLL’s Americas Research group. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, real estate, economics, or related field desired.
  • Three or more years in consulting, commercial real estate research or closely related field.
  • Strong project management skills to deliver work on time and in communication with local and out of market team members.
  • Command of economic and business drivers with good understanding of macro trends and historical perspective.
  • Dynamic presentation skills and experience presenting insightful content to clients, internal stakeholders, and the media.
  • High-level analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Proactive and strategic thinking and ability to lead research initiatives, align research with the business, and innovate research output for a rapidly changing industry and product type.
  • Ability to effectively and professionally exceed client expectations and positively represent the firm.
  • Ability to multi-task, be resilient and can effectively manage time and workload.
  • Ability to lead research initiatives in alignment with business and marketing objectives.
  • A desire to work within a diverse, collaborative, and driven professional environment.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference for persons with background in statistics and python that can evaluate large data sets to understand dependent and independent variables.
  • Preference for curious and interest in commercial real estate.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain intimate and extensive knowledge of the macro and micro factors affecting the industries marketplace and proactively position research to leverage this knowledge for the business and for clients
  • Analysing underlying economic demand trends that inform real estate demand
  • Evaluating commercial real estate supply conditions and determining prevailing net effective rents by submarket and building segment.
  • Writing quarterly market reports to explain market shifts for the Silicon Valley office, flex R&D, and industrial markets.
  • Presenting findings to investors and brokers on prevailing market conditions.
  • Creating bespoke analyses for clients on individual commercial real estate research assignments
  • Analysing independent economic variables that inform future vacancy and rent conditions for the Rocky Mountain region.
  • Maintain library of insights that all teams within the organization can leverage.
  • Build and manage the statistical and analytical quality of data for the mentioned markets, including supply and demand conditions for office research and development properties.
  • Support other research initiatives and reporting across other asset types, including Flex/R&D, Lab, Industrial, and retail.
  • Manage and contribute to the production of key research reports providing a unique house view on market drivers and influencers in both Denver and Salt Lake City.
  • Develop strong relationships with internal and external clients and facilitate the use of research as a differentiator including being personally client facing and externally focused on new and existing business efforts.
  • Work with marketing teams and business leaders to position research to contribute to all business development efforts
