About The Position

Eversource is seeking a Senior Analyst for their Project Controls, Risk Management & EVM Team. This leadership role functions as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for supporting the implementation, training, and advancement of risk management and EVM processes within the Project Controls Department. The position involves developing and implementing department procedures, processes, practices, tools, dashboards, reports, and systems to effectively manage, control, analyze, and report on risk and EVM performance for projects within the Transmission Organization. The role also supports the development, maintenance, and reporting of Key Project Indicators (KPIs) for progress measurement, risk management, EVM, and other key metrics to drive effectiveness and efficiency. This role facilitates the production of complex reports and analyses for project initiation, planning, execution, control, compliance, and close-out initiatives. The SME will collaborate with all functional departments, providing training and analysis to ensure understanding of Eversource’s policies, procedures, and standards. The role is based in Hookset, NH.

Requirements

  • Robust understanding of project management principles, processes, methodologies, and practices acquired through experience in project delivery roles.
  • Knowledge of risk management, EVM, finance, and analytics.
  • Ability to anticipate, define, and manage solutions to complex, interrelated risk management, EVM, finance, and/or regulatory issues.
  • Experience with implementing systems, migrating, and integrating data from several source systems.
  • Proficiency in quantitative techniques associated with risk management, such as Monte Carlo analysis, statistical modeling, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Ability to interpret numerical data accurately and derive actionable insights.
  • Must be able to facilitate discussions, gain consensus, develop action plans, and drive implementation.
  • Ability to think and act strategically in a fast-paced environment with frequently shifting and/or conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively with various levels within the organization.
  • Ability to monitor and analyze risk and EVM information and make recommendations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present in front of large audiences.
  • Self-reliant with a strong sense of self-motivation and good communication skills.
  • Previous experience working in team environments as well as supporting process improvements and group facilitation.
  • Working knowledge of the fundamentals of project management, risk management, cost controls, scheduling techniques, and any Project Management Information System (PMIS).
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, economics, IT, accounting, finance, business/management or related degree is required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the utility energy delivery industry preferred.
  • Experience in Utility and Energy Delivery is preferred.
  • Oracle Primavera P6 or OPC scheduling is preferred.
  • Equivalent experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree will be considered.
  • Advanced degree in related field is highly desirable.
  • Project Management certification (PMP) is highly desirable.
  • Risk Management Certification (RMP and ISO 31000) is highly desirable.
  • Six Sigma is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Project Risk and Earned Value Management, Project Performance processes, methodologies, procedures, and services.
  • Provides training and coaching to Project Controls team members and functional groups on Risk and EVM processes and tools.
  • Supports the development and maintenance of risk management and EVM policies and procedures.
  • Reviews and updates Project Risk Management (PRM) and Earned Value Management (EVM) Plans in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Leads and coordinates PRM and EVM activities, including reviewing risk registers, risk requiring action (RRAs) reviews, EVM project and portfolio performance, forensic analysis of cost and schedule, and status reporting.
  • Facilitates cross-functional collaboration to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Works with project stakeholders to update the Risk Register and evaluate EVM performance, establishing Project Controls recommendations for corrective action.
  • Implements risk management and EVM tools and provides training and guidance on project risk management and EVM processes.
  • Fosters a proactive culture in risk management and high EVM performance.
  • Works with stakeholders including Project Management, Investment Planning, Operations, Contract Administration, Planning & Scheduling, Engineering, Procurement, Materials Management, Estimating, and Project Performance to align risk management and EVM methodologies with corporate goals.
  • Oversees quantitative risk analysis processes and tools, including EVM, Monte Carlo simulation, sensitivity analysis, and probabilistic modeling.
  • Ensures accuracy and reliability of risk assessment and EVM results.
  • Produces risk and EVM metrics, interprets quantitative risk analysis results, CPI & SPI performance, and identifies trends, emerging risks, and areas of concern.
  • Provides recommendations based on EVM performance, risk levels, risk and EVM response strategies, and project control actions.
  • Monitors risk and EVM performance against the Transmission Capital Portfolio and execution readiness.
  • Performs forensic, deep dive root cause analysis of risk and EVM performance (cost, schedule, scope) to drive visibility and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Prepares written reports, presentations, and correspondence.
