Senior Analyst, Global Trade Operations
About The Position
The Senior Analyst, Trade Operations will provide trade support to Fidelity's domestic and international equity, high yield, foreign exchange, and fixed income/money market trading desks. The Senior Analyst will work closely with the desk, broker-dealer community, custodian bank networks to facilitate settlement in over 70 countries worldwide. In addition to the various external counterparts that the trade analysts deal with, there are several internal groups that assist in the group's daily responsibilities, including Compliance, Treasurer's Office, Counterparty Risk, Legal, FMTC, Fund Accounting, and other Custody groups.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required
- 4+ years of relevant financial operations industry experience, preferably in FX Trade / FX Custody Operations
- Solid working knowledge of the custody operations business, industry practices and tools strongly preferred
- Deep knowledge of the FX operational environment and market settlement practices preferred
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously within a tight timeframe
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with others to implement solutions
- Experience using OMGEO Alert, and Finastra CMS
- Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, and Power Point
Nice To Haves
- Progress toward advanced degrees or professional certifications a plus
- SQL or VBA knowledge a plus
- Understanding of Fund Accounting or Pricing preferred
Responsibilities
- Monitor trade instruction and delivery to custodian banks
- Facilitate the accurate and timely delivery of critical business information
- Provide trade confirmation / affirmation and settlement support for Equity, Fixed Incomes and FX assets classes
- Resolve failed trades by communicating with Brokers and Custodian banks
- Escalating issues and taking initiative to resolve problems
- Participate as a subject matter expert on projects
- Support the development and review of departmental policies and procedures
- Collaborate within team environment to manage daily work volumes and quality standards
- Provide timely coaching to staff on day-to-day responsibilities
- Identify and resolving problems related to transactions or investment data in a timely fashion following established guidelines
