About The Position

This role is responsible for conducting in-depth financial analysis, developing and managing budgets, evaluating company and business performance, and assessing economic impacts. They collaborate with team members on projects and workstreams within the department and across the organization. Sound judgment, excellent problem solving, organizational skills and a proactive attitude will position the successful candidate to earn a rewarding opportunity with this fast-growing company.

Requirements

  • 2 + years’ experience in preparing and coordinating budgets, forecasts, and related financial reporting.
  • Experience with financial modeling in excel.
  • Excellent communication skills and able to present business drivers to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) including experience with financial reporting, forecasting and analysis across the income statement, balance sheet and statement of cash flows.
  • Fluent in English (required).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the Energy sector preferred.
  • Experience with SAP, BPC, Anaplan or a similar planning tool.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide wholistic financial management of a portfolio of renewable assets that are owned in partnership by AES and minority partners.
  • Own monthly and quarterly deliverables required by JV Investors and Bondholders for assigned portfolio.
  • Coordinate Board meetings and support any request made by the partners.
  • Monthly forecasting of EBITDA and CAFD, annual budgeting, identifying financial risk and opportunities, working with asset management and operations leaders to optimize financial performance.
