About The Position

The Senior Analyst, Financial Reporting is responsible for contributing to the preparation and delivery of BDC’s financial reporting deliverables on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. The incumbent also monitors and reports on BDC’s Capital Management and participates in the analysis and implementation of new IFRS accounting standards.

Requirements

  • CPA designation or working toward CPA
  • 2-4 years’ experience in financial reporting, accounting and/or auditing
  • Strong understanding of IFRS accounting standards and financial reporting process
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deliverables and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, ability to obtain information and communicate issues and requests to others effectively, ability to foster relationships with internal customers
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in French and English
  • High proficiency in Excel and familiarity with financial systems (e.g., PeopleSoft)
  • Capacity to learn new financial systems and willingness to adopt AI and automation solutions

Responsibilities

  • Prepare timely, accurate and reliable financial reporting deliverables (monthly, quarterly and annual), using AI-enabled tools when possible to enhance efficiency and accuracy, in collaboration with team members, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and internal standards.
  • Prepare timely, accurate and reliable consolidated and non-consolidated financial statements and financial reports—including all quarterly and year-end financial statements, including the notes to the financial statements for BDC, its subsidiary, and other entities under management. Ensures their compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Contribute to the quarterly and annual preparation of Management Discussion and Analysis and other sections of the Annual Report.
  • Contribute to the preparation of key deliverables including executive dashboards, reporting packages, Audit Committee and Board presentations and other regulatory and government reporting deliverables.
  • Respond to inquiries and requests from internal and external auditors, providing timely, accurate, and well-supported information.
  • Prepare accounting analyses on new IFRS accounting standards, assessing their impact on financial reporting and supporting their implementation.
  • Monitor and report results on BDC’s Internal Capital Adequacy and RORAC on a monthly basis.
  • Reconcile Portfolio Risk Management and CFAR economic capital calculations and RORAC.
  • Liaise with the Portfolio Management team to share expertise, resolve issues and ensure coordination of capital and RORAC reporting.
  • Participate in the preparation of ad hoc analyses and reporting requests to support management decision-making.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance reporting processes, tools and efficiency, including the adoption and integration of AI and automation solutions.
