Position Summary The Senior Analyst, Financial Reporting and Analysis will support the Medicare Supplement business by delivering accurate, timely, and reliable financial reporting. This role is integral to the monthly and quarterly close processes, balance sheet analysis, statutory (STAT) reporting, and internal and external audits. The position partners closely with Finance and Actuarial teams and requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or financial analysis.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel with intermediate to advanced skills (e.g., lookups, SUMIFS, pivot tables).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare or insurance.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and STAT reporting.
  • Experience with large financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Excel4Apps).
  • Prior experience supporting balance sheet accounts and/or STAT reporting.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Execute month-end close activities, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, control preparation, and delivery of financial reports to business partners.
  • Support quarter-end close activities, including STAT reporting and serving as a liaison for audit requests.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve reporting accuracy, strengthen controls, and increase efficiency by reducing manual processes.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance and Actuarial teams to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency in financial reporting.
  • Support system enhancements and finance transformation initiatives, as applicable.
