This Senior Analyst, Finance role is an ideal opportunity for CPA-designated professionals (or those in final completion) who bring strong auditing and governance experience, ideally from a Big 4 environment. You will gain meaningful exposure within the banking industry, moving beyond journal entries and month-end close to influence decision-making through variance analysis, stakeholder engagement, and governance support. This self-driven role is perfect for someone who can communicate confidently, challenge thoughtfully to gain clarity, handle sensitive and confidential information with care, and take action with minimal guidance. If you are looking to broaden your impact, sharpen your judgment, and accelerate your growth, this is a standout opportunity. The role involves consolidating, analyzing, and reporting on the financial performance of the business/group to support the month-, quarter-, and year-end closing process, including financial reporting and financial governance. It supports an efficient and effective accounting function that uses common information sources and practices, reduces ongoing costs, and increases service level performance. The position also supports the execution of strategic initiatives, builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders, breaks down strategic problems to provide accounting insights and recommendations, and identifies opportunities for alignment with accounting/finance processes. It acts as a point of escalation on operational matters, analyzes financial results for reporting, gathers data for reports and dashboards, and supports the preparation of journal entries and financial statements. The role provides information and support for internal and external audits, reviews documentation, coordinates strategic initiative implementation, and executes routine tasks within service level agreements. It requires organizing work information for accuracy, collaborating with stakeholders, and developing knowledge of business/group accounting requirements and standards. The focus is primarily on business/group within BMO, potentially with a broader, enterprise-wide scope. The incumbent will exercise judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve complex problems independently and take measured risks in line with the bank's Risk Management Framework.
