About The Position

Reporting to the Manager or Director, Corporate Compliance, the Senior Analyst, Corporate Compliance supports the Bank’s Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) Program by assisting in the execution, monitoring, and continuous improvement of regulatory compliance activities. This role contributes to ensuring adherence to applicable laws, regulations, regulatory guidance, and internal policies, while helping to identify, assess, and mitigate regulatory compliance risks. The Senior Compliance Analyst will work closely with business partners, the first line Business Compliance team, the Enterprise Risk Management function, and other control functions to promote a strong culture of compliance across the Bank.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, risk management, audit, monitoring and testing, internal controls, oversight, governance or a related financial services discipline.
  • Experience conducting compliance monitoring and testing, control assessments, risk assessments, or other assurance activities within a regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of risk and control frameworks, monitoring and testing methodologies, and the three lines of defence model.
  • Experience evaluating business processes and identifying opportunities to strengthen controls and compliance outcomes.
  • Ability to facilitate discussions, challenge constructively, and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work effectively with business partners, business compliance, risk, audit, and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a changing environment.
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present findings and recommendations clearly and concisely.
  • Working knowledge of Canadian banking regulations, regulatory expectations, and regulatory compliance management practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting regulatory change initiatives, issue management activities, or compliance program enhancements is an asset.
  • Experience using Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) platforms is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining the Bank’s regulatory compliance management framework and associated methodologies in alignment with OSFI, FCAC, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Provide compliance guidance to business units on policies, procedures, and regulatory obligations.
  • Support the interpretation and application of laws, regulations, and regulatory guidance applicable to banking activities.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assist in assessing their impact on products, services, and operations.
  • Oversee and challenge the implementation of new or updated regulatory requirements, including updates to policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Maintain regulatory inventories, change logs, and related documentation.
  • Provide oversight and challenge of risk assessments and compliance activities performed by the first line of defence.
  • Execute second line of defence compliance monitoring and testing, and document results, issues, and root cause analyses.
  • Track, challenge and validate remediation of compliance issues and incidents.
  • Maintain compliance issue logs and escalation materials.
  • Prepare and maintain compliance metrics, dashboards, and reports for management committees and senior leadership.
  • Support governance forums by coordinating materials, tracking action items, and maintaining records.
  • Maintain accurate and organized compliance documentation, including policies, procedures, risk assessments, and monitoring results.
  • Assist with the development, coordination, and maintenance of compliance training and awareness initiatives.
  • Support communications that reinforce regulatory expectations and a strong compliance culture.
  • Apply sound judgment and a pragmatic, risk-based approach when addressing compliance challenges and overseeing business decision-making.
