About The Position

One Park Financial is seeking a Senior Analyst to turn bank-transaction data from applicants and funded merchants into actionable decisions about approvals, portfolio health, pricing, and renewals. The role owns analysis of merchant cash flow and financial health, using signals such as deposits, balances, withdrawals, non-sufficient funds (NSFs), and revenue trends to identify emerging portfolio stress as well as merchants who may warrant faster approvals, pre-approved offers, or renewals. The analyst will work closely with Pricing, Credit, and Data Engineering to translate validated insights into business actions, maintain trustworthy data and monitoring, and measure the results. The position also builds lightweight tools and automation—including AI- and LLM-assisted workflows—to scale analysis and provide operations teams with self-service intelligence. This is an analytical decision-making role rather than a reporting-only role, with findings communicated clearly to executives and non-technical audiences. OPF describes itself as an AI-forward fintech company focused on financing small businesses.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of experience in data or credit analytics.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as economics, statistics, mathematics, finance, or computer science, or a similar field.
  • Strong SQL and Python skills, including experience analyzing large datasets with pandas and notebooks.
  • Fluency with bank-transaction and cash-flow data, including understanding what deposits, NSFs, and balance trends indicate and recognizing limitations such as partial account coverage, seasonality, and survivorship bias.
  • Hands-on experience with Plaid, including connected-account transaction feeds, their structure, quirks, and coverage gaps.
  • Credit-risk judgment that can distinguish worsening segment health from the appropriate underwriting response and identify where the data supports approving more; understands that correlation alone does not determine a pricing decision.
  • Experience building portfolio-monitoring or performance-tracking metrics, cohort or vintage analyses, and business-use dashboards.
  • Statistical judgment, including validating signals out of sample and considering regime shifts and base rates.
  • Strong business judgment and communication skills, including the ability to explain complex analysis to executive audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in small-business lending, merchant cash advances, revenue-based finance, or fintech lending.
  • Understanding of modern AI, including LLMs, agents, and MCPs, and comfort building lightweight tools using the company's own data.
  • Experience with dbt.
  • Comfort with cloud data environments; AWS experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own analysis of merchant financial health from bank-transaction data, including cash runway, deposit velocity, revenue volatility, NSF patterns, and negative-balance days, across applicants and funded merchants.
  • Build and maintain portfolio-health metrics, cohort views, and early-warning dashboards to monitor portfolio performance and identify emerging stress.
  • Identify leading indicators of loss and develop monitoring that flags cash-flow-related stress ahead of delinquency.
  • Identify merchants and segments that may merit approval, faster decisions, auto-approval, pre-approved offers, or proactive renewals; define criteria and partner with Pricing to put them into production.
  • Analyze unfunded applicants—including businesses declined by OPF and businesses that declined OPF—as a market signal for industry trends.
  • Surface pricing opportunities by identifying industries and segments that may be mispriced relative to their cash-flow characteristics.
  • Work with Pricing and Credit to translate signals into approval, offer, and underwriting actions, and measure whether those actions worked.
  • Partner with Data Engineering to keep relevant data pipelines clean, current, and trustworthy.
  • Build lightweight tools and automation, including AI/LLM-assisted workflows, to scale analysis and provide self-service intelligence to operations teams.
  • Communicate findings to non-technical and executive audiences using clear visuals and concise narratives.
