About The Position

The Case Management Partner - Bilingual Investigator (Customer Investigations) role conducts complex workplace investigations with a focus on harassment and discrimination. Responsibilities include policy analysis and providing recommendations for senior management. This role independently conducts high volumes of complex and neutral workplace investigations involving customers with a focus on discrimination and harassment allegations based on a human rights ground. This role is a Field role and applicants can be located anywhere in Canada. As an investigator, Case Management Partners are responsible for reaching appropriate conclusions in accordance with applicable employment-related legislation and evolving employment and human rights case law. The role requires effective communication of investigative findings, policy applications, and related recommendations to senior management and legal counsel, both in writing and verbally. This role involves handling highly sensitive and confidential information about associates and customers. Additionally, this role provides subject matter expertise in workplace investigations to various managers and HR business partners. Developing a professional reputation as neutral, experienced, and trustworthy is essential for this role. The role must also appropriately prioritize overlapping urgent matters.

Requirements

  • Bilingual - French & English
  • Complex writing skills of a legal nature
  • Ability to be neutral and calm in stressful interviews about sensitive matters
  • Ability to analyze complex interpersonal matters and articulate findings in clear and appropriate manner
  • Ability to manage high stress/ interpersonal conflict on a daily basis
  • Ability to learn new areas of the business quickly
  • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision, time manage, and produce high volume of work product within tight deadlines
  • Subject matter expertise in how to conduct a neutral harassment and discrimination investigation
  • Subject matter expertise in making appropriate conclusion on harassment and discrimination allegations
  • Appropriate familiarity with employment related laws

Responsibilities

  • Must independently conduct high volume of complex, high risk, neutral workplace investigations into allegations that an employee may have acted contrary to Walmart Canada policy and applicable law, including related decisions/recommendations with respect to discipline up to and including termination.
  • Must effectively manage high stress workplace conflict between the parties involved in the investigation, in addition to, appropriately prioritizing overlapping urgent/ high risk matters.
  • Must effectively communicate to senior management and legal counsel, their investigative findings, application of policy and related recommendations, both in writing and verbally.
  • Responsible for reaching appropriate conclusions that are in accordance with applicable employment related law, including fast developing human rights case law.
  • Responsible for appropriately handling highly sensitive confidential information about associates and customers.
  • Responsible for interviewing customers on behalf of Walmart Canada related to human rights, harassment, and discrimination.
  • Responsible for developing a professional reputation across the business that they are neutral, experienced, and trustworthy.
  • Effectively report on trends, and continuous improvement opportunities to mitigate future risk and increase customer satisfaction.
