About The Position

National Jewish Health is seeking a strategic and analytically minded Senior Analyst, Budgeting and Planning to support financial planning and decision-making across the organization. This role partners with leaders throughout the institution to develop budgets, evaluate performance and provide data-driven insights that help advance organizational goals and operational excellence. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leaders and key stakeholders, influencing strategic decisions that support the organization's mission, drive operational excellence and enable continued investment in groundbreaking research and patient care. The Senior Financial Analyst position helps to ensure optimal financial and operating efficiency throughout the institution. This position develops budgets, analyzes operational data, and works with organizational leaders to achieve financial and operational goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, analytics, finance, or related field required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a finance or analytics.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience with business intelligence tools (Tableau, Power BI, Qlik) and SQL preferred.
  • Prior healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and analyzes departmental and organizational budgets
  • Monitors financial performance and prepares variance analyses
  • Creates financial and operational reports for leadership
  • Partners with executives and managers on planning and business initiatives
  • Presents data-driven recommendations to support decision-making
  • Reviews, analyzes, and edits budget submissions.
  • Oversees departmental and programmatic spending to ensure expenditures remain within board-approved budgets.
  • Assists with data collection, validation and annual reporting for the institution.
  • Analyzes financial and operational data to provide recurring and ad-hoc reporting to organizational leadership.
  • Presents financial and special project reports to internal and external audiences.
  • Collaborates with faculty, executives, and managers to enhance existing operations and support new business ventures.
  • Monitors budgets throughout the year and prepares variances analyses.
