About The Position

Renesas is seeking a Senior Analog Design Engineer to interpret requirement specifications and develop system and design strategies for power management products. This role involves technical leadership for major blocks, ensuring designs are successfully guided into production. The engineer will be responsible for the design, simulation, and layout supervision of CMOS power management circuits, meeting performance, area, power, and timescale constraints. They will take ownership of complex block designs, delegate tasks, and review the work of others. Responsibilities include feasibility studies for new circuits, leading lab evaluations in collaboration with Applications Engineers, and producing high-quality documentation for IP blocks. The role also focuses on leading innovation in design and methodologies to enhance power management capabilities, supporting DFT strategy and implementation, and partnering with the test team for appropriate test development. Top-level simulation and verification planning and implementation are also key. The position involves coaching and mentoring junior team members, taking a proactive approach to personal development, and potentially engaging in customer-facing relationships as part of the project team. Support for the RFQ process and ad hoc tasks as assigned by management are also expected.

Requirements

  • Typically 6-8 years’ relevant experience.
  • Advanced training, study and experience allowing work on advanced complex technical projects.
  • Ability to select most appropriate methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for maximizing results.
  • Ability to solve complex issues in creative, commercial and effective ways.
  • Able to lead & co-ordinate significant projects, programs and business initiatives with creativity and ingenuity.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership for major blocks, ensuring designs are successfully guided into production.
  • Design, simulation and layout supervision of CMOS power management circuits meeting performance, area, power and timescale constraints.
  • Take ownership for complex block design, delegating tasks where appropriate and reviewing design work where necessary.
  • Conduct feasibility study of new circuits, ensure design meets specification.
  • Lead Lab evaluation in collaboration with Applications Engineers.
  • Produce high quality documentation for own IP blocks.
  • Lead innovation of design and methodologies, to increase power management capabilities.
  • Support DFT strategy and implementation.
  • Partner with test team to ensure appropriate test development to ramp to production.
  • Perform top level simulation and verification planning and implementation.
  • Coach and mentor less experienced team members.
  • Take proactive approach to driving own development plan, utilizing team members and internal development opportunities.
  • Engage in customer-facing relationships as part of the project team.
  • Support RFQ process where necessary.
  • Perform any ad hoc tasks as deemed reasonable by your manager.
