About The Position

West Monroe is seeking a Senior AI Software Engineer to join our Technology & Experience (TechEx) practice. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building scalable, production-grade software applications enhanced by modern AI capabilities. You’ll work directly with clients and cross-functional teams to design, build, and deploy full-stack applications, integrations, workflows, and AI-enabled solutions that solve real business problems. We’re looking for engineers who thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy solving complex technical challenges, and want to build modern software systems from concept through production.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • 1+ years of experience building and deploying AI-enabled products or features in production environments
  • Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, system design, and object-oriented programming
  • Experience building production systems using modern backend and frontend technologies
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Experience integrating APIs, distributed systems, and enterprise platforms
  • Strong communication and client-facing collaboration skills
  • Experience integrating AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) into day-to-day workflows to enhance productivity and insight generation, coupled with strong critical thinking to assess accuracy, mitigate bias, and ensure high-quality outputs.
  • Languages: C#, Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Frontend: React, Angular, Vue.js
  • Backend: APIs, microservices, REST, GraphQL
  • Cloud & DevOps: AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD
  • Databases: PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB
  • AI Experience: LLM integration, prompt engineering, agent-based systems, RAG pipelines, AI-enabled development workflows

Nice To Haves

  • Consulting or client delivery experience
  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Temporal or Airflow
  • Familiarity with Databricks, Snowflake, or modern data platforms
  • Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and deploy full-stack applications and distributed systems
  • Develop APIs, integrations, data pipelines, and cloud-native applications
  • Build AI-enabled features including intelligent agents, copilots, workflow automation, and LLM-powered experiences
  • Develop prompting and orchestration strategies for models such as GPT, Claude, and Gemini
  • Integrate AI capabilities into existing platforms and engineering workflows
  • Collaborate directly with clients to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions across AWS, Azure, and GCP
  • Contribute to architecture, code reviews, mentoring, and engineering best practices
  • Operate in Agile teams with a strong focus on shipping high-quality software
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate analysis, synthesize complex information, and support data-driven recommendations for clients, exercising sound judgment in evaluating outputs.
  • Apply AI technologies (e.g., generative AI, automation tools, data models) to enhance insights, improve delivery efficiency, and elevate the quality of client outcomes.
