Senior AI Product Manager, Cybersecurity

Scale AISan Francisco, NY

About The Position

Scale is seeking a Senior AI Product Manager to build and own the company's Cybersecurity portfolio. This role involves defining the strategy and standards for a new product line focused on data, environments, and evaluations for training and measuring security capabilities in AI models. The position requires a deep understanding of cybersecurity challenges in agentic AI, including vulnerability discovery, patch generation, and secure code review. The product manager will be responsible for the entire product lifecycle, from strategy and roadmap to external release, and will drive the infrastructure roadmap for reproducible execution environments and security tooling. A key aspect of the role is establishing a responsible-development posture and governance for data quality, contamination prevention, and intellectual property hygiene. The Senior AI Product Manager will also recruit and manage a network of cybersecurity practitioners and build external partnerships.

Requirements

  • Real cybersecurity work experience (vulnerability research, fuzzing, exploit development, malware analysis, red teaming, detection engineering, or incident response).
  • Competitive CTF, published CVEs, bug bounty record, or OSS-Fuzz contributions are valuable.
  • 5+ years in product management, technical program management, consulting, or customer-facing technical roles, or equivalent practitioner experience with a product ownership focus.
  • Working knowledge of the AI-for-security evaluation landscape (e.g., CyberGym, Cybench, CVE-Bench).
  • Sufficient software engineering depth to read code, reason about runtime behavior, and communicate with engineers and researchers.
  • Familiarity with model post-training and evaluation, including agentic scaffolds and container-based rollout infrastructure.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
  • Sound judgment on dual-use questions and a commitment to building capability measurement that aids defenders.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, bias for action, and comfort in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.

Responsibilities

  • Own the roadmap and strategy for Scale's Cybersecurity portfolio across training data, RL environments, agentic task suites, and evaluation products.
  • Define the capability map for training and measuring AI security capabilities, including vulnerability discovery, patch generation, secure code review, and incident triage.
  • Make strategic decisions on where Scale competes in the offense-defense spectrum for AI security.
  • Partner with ML researchers and security practitioners on task specifications, grader design, and verifiable rewards.
  • Drive the infrastructure roadmap for reproducible vulnerability images, fuzzing toolchains, sandboxed execution, and automated verification.
  • Build and scale sourcing pipelines for cybersecurity tasks.
  • Own the responsible-development posture, including containment, coordinated disclosure, and customer vetting.
  • Establish governance for data quality, contamination prevention, license and IP hygiene, reproducibility, and release management.
  • Recruit and steward a contributor network of cybersecurity practitioners.
  • Design quality controls for validating work at the edge of expertise.
  • Own external partnerships with open-source benchmark collaborations, academic security groups, and enterprise data partnerships.
  • Work directly with customers to understand model failures on security work and translate insights into the product roadmap.
  • Partner with GTM on launches and thought leadership.
